Ok I’m going to share a secret with you. The absolute, hands-down BEST Filipino food on the island of Kauai can be found in a food truck on Rice St. Manna on Wheels IS authentic Filipino food at its finest. I grew up in San Diego eating authentic Filipino food and over the years, I’ve tried MANY Filipino restaurants and have been disappointed in most. NOT HERE. This food is FRESH and made to order! We had the pansit, Chicken Adobo and of course we had to try the lumpia! And oh. My. Gosh! The pansit was HEAVENLY. Cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of veggies to give each bite that crunch! And the flavor!! And the smell! The chicken adobo was rich and with the slow cooked potatoes, carrots and onion it felt like the comfort food of my childhood. And the lumpia. Oh the LUMPIA! The only way to go is the pork and veggies and these bad boys are HUGE! Not the little lumpias I’ve come to known from the Filipino bakeries. Deep Fried to absolute perfection! Crispy on the outside and stuffed full of goodness on the inside. We’ve been twice and both times there was hardly any line. But honestly, this place is too good to not have a line around the block.
