Wow! The food made me miss home. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. They have so many different options on food. Anywhere from lumpia to favorite dishes to dessert.

We were in the area and craving for some Filipino meal. Oliver, who was working behind the counter, was very accommodating and was able to answer all our food queries. We ordered the pansit malabon. Flavor was spot on. It has the essence of the shrimp heads with a hint of citrus. Noodles were al dente. We also got the lechon kawali which was a weekend only item. The skin was absolutely crispy and the meat was succulent. Came with two cups of rice and a steaming bowl of sinigang soup. The dinuguan with rice came with two generous cups of rice. The soupy sauce was thick and creamy, with tender pork ears, meat and fat from the pig’s head. For our taste, it could have been perfect if it had a tiny bit of acidity. Their lumpiang sariwa did not seem to contain any ubod. But the substitution and all the other ingredients still made the flavor and texture complete. It has the sweet peanut sauce, with chopped nuts on top. It had no fresh garlic either, but we thought it was fine without it. Their bibingka was baked on banana leaf. Warm, fluffy and buttery sweet cake. But our order seems to barely have any salted egg, which did not complete the sweet salty experience you would normally get from a proper bibingka.

Came here for the first time and wondered why we didn’t come sooner. And more often. We were greeted right away upon entering. Ordered the Manila BBQ, Pancit Malabon and Fresh Lumpia. Everything appeared very quickly. The BBQ came with two big scoops of rice. The flavor was so good with just the right hint of sweetness. Hubby ate the Pancit so fast that I didn’t get a chance to taste some or to take a picture of the dish. After all that, we made room for a halo halo and a warm taho. OMG. I started to tear up. All so good. The best part was the friendly owner who came by to talk. We’ll be back again soon to try the other dishes. No need to go to the Philippines for authentic tasting food.

I’ve been to a few locations of Manila Sunset and this location is by far the worst.

Been here a few times now. First, a family friend introduced me to this place, pre-Covid. Still same authentic taste. Fresh lumpia, pancit Malabon! Yum! There is a wait since they make your food fresh! Has ample and accessible parking! Our server today was great even though she is by herself! The place immediately filled up. People are pretty good budding their own tables after. Each table has it’s name/marker. Pick your table. Order and pay for your food, take a sear. Food will then be delivered to your table. Enjoy!

Authentic pinoy food! If you’re in the Tacoma area and do not want to fight the crowds of seafood city, Manila sunset is definitely a place to be.

Every time we go to Seafood City, we see this little restaurant across the street and always comment on how we need to try this place. We finally stopped by here on a Saturday for lunch with the family and got the Pinoy Spaghetti, Lechon Kawali, Lumpia, & Tocino.
