I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mandu in Washington DC, and let me tell you, it was an absolute revelation. This place has everything you could possibly want in a Korean restaurant and more.

Came here for dinner after work with a few coworkers. We were immediately sat when we arrived for our reservation. It was 7 of us in our party. It was a small restaurant but I appreciated that there was a decent amount of space between tables. We were given water and the opportunity to look through the menu. The waiter was very attentive and moved quickly!

Just had dinner there with my son few days ago. I ordered Kimchi Jjigae and was expecting a hearty Kimchi pork bone stew soup. What I got was a bowl of Kimchi soup with few pieces of cold tofu buried under the Kimchi. I did not see any meat in it (this was supposed to a pork shoulder stew). It was was not garnished when served. It tasted very salty and no flavor. It is insane to charge over $25 for this dish that is not properly cooked. Do not recommend this restaurant. Please do not let the fancy setting of this place fool you- overpriced and bad food..

The food was okay, but when we asked about some culture-related questions, the server seemed impatient. They don’t have much space in the restaurant, so try to make reservations for a big party!

Must try place if you’re in the area or visiting DC!! We made a reservation same day and were seated as soon as we got there. Our waiter was so attentive and sweet – my mom has several dietary restrictions and he really took the time to review the menu with her.

Tucked in K St NW where once this area was known to be where pimps and ladies(?) of the night roamed the streets at witching hours, Mandu is a cute Korean woodsy restaurant that has all the staples without the tabletop grilling. There is something of a sense of relief not having to cook your own food where the staff are rushing you out like other K places, a-La Honey Pig and Gogi Yogi. Mandu is relaxed and the food is bountiful. Our server Tom was super nice and attentive, sweet and extremely easy on the eyes, made sure that we were well informed and taken care of to the last detail including a birthday sherbet for my niece. We had amazing apps, seafood pancake, grilled cauliflower, and the dumplings, all top rate. For our entrees we had bulgogi, bibimpba, juekkejan, and galbi, all entrees enough for a couple to eat.

The restaurant is actually feel not that koreany in my opinion. I ordered 2 appetizers and 3 mains and all foods are pretty good but lower than my expectations for Korean food but it’s okay in DC. But the servers are really nice and they replace the dish every time you changed from appetizers to mains and dessert.

This place was okay. Their flavors were kinda bland especially their sundubu-jjigae. It didn’t have any taste to it other than spiciness and the hefty price tag made me feel like I was scammed.

Looking for a nice tucked away spot with good food, then this is your place. Went here for a Galentines dinner, and it was overall good. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and provided good recommendations. If you’re in the area, check it out!

This is the first restaurant in America where i feel there is something called Service level. The staffs here create friendly vibe that definitely worth your tip. I’ve been to expensive restaurant but honestly, their service sucks. Thanks for retaining hope for me
