My wife and I are in town to babysit our grandson while our daughter and son in law attend a wedding in Indiana. We didn’t really want to go out and get something on a Friday night, so we decided to research the pizza joints near Byron Center. Well, we hit the jackpot with Mamma Mineo’s! One of the best pizzas and wings we’ve had in a while. Delicious and the delivery driver was very nice also. Ordered take-out pizzas here tonight. We got a sausage, pepperoni, extra sauce, extra cheese, and the first bite I hear, “this IS goood.” I asked for a recommendation between the Ortalana and the Italian vegetarian pizzas, the person taking my order tells me what each has on them, and says it is really personal preference, and I asked which would they order, they said the Ortalana, but they’re Italian, and that didn’t sound like an argument Against it to me, so I ordered it. It is really good!!!

I discovered Mamma Mineo’s many years ago. The pizza is good, but in my opinion, is now priced too high. I fully understand and recognize that inflation has had an impact on all businesses, but some of their policies and price increases don’t make sense. For example, if I ordered a 2 topping special and got cheese only on the pizza, they used to be willing to add garlic parmesan to the crust for no additional charge. Now, they don’t count the garlic parmesan crust as a regular topping and thus charge an additional $1.75 for it. Additionally, the restaurant now adds a surcharge on every order because of increased costs. They have already raised their prices significantly, but if they need to increase their menu prices even further to account for their inflated costs, so be it. Adding a surcharge at the end of the order is really off-putting because it feels like they are not being transparent with their prices. Mamma Mineo’s used to be one of our favorites, but we now take our business elsewhere due to their changed business practices.

Tasty authentic style pizza! Everything is freshly made and hot! Superb ratio of sauce and cheese. The cheese breadsticks are loaded with gooey cheese and lots of parmesan garlicy goodness! Cinnamon sticks were covered in icing and powdered sugar! Much better than the chain pizza places.

I’ve been going to this place for years and they haven’t 899 Pizza out the door one topping and for years they’ve done a half topping half pepperoni half Pizza whatever but now they won’t do it anymore and they’re very rude about it
