This restaurant is a hidden gem! I happened upon it by recommendation from a friend. It apparently has recently changed owners, and has taken on a fresh, new look inside. It was previously known for its amazing brunch, and so that tradition is being continued in addition to a new menu that offers much variety, and frankly a high level of quality no matter what you pick. (It’s not an easy choice as everything looks really good.) So far I’ve had both the brunch and dinner several times; each time trying something different. If it’s possible to make a plate of food with undivided love and attention, this is the real deal! The wait staff, as we learned, have at least a decade of experience behind them; very courteous and willing to please. (BTW, I saw a table of very rude customers near me the other day. They were constantly complaining after apparently arriving a whole hour late for their reservation, and after voicing displeasure with some chicken, for which they weren’t even charged, ate the food anyway! I couldn’t believe my eyes! One would think that if the food was not good enough, it would remain untouched. The waitress had the patience of a saint, and if anything, the other customers could clearly see the truth to the whole situation. I guess some folks just want extra attention and a free meal while integrity and basic kindness get left behind.) Also, there is a very good pianist that comes to play live music (varied genres but nothing deafening) on certain evenings. I fully support and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality meal at a bargain price, and one served by some very kind people!

I was there last night with three family members, and it’s hard to believe this place is in business. The server was pleasant but I had to wonder if she this was her first night ever, as she did not offer a wine list or non-alcoholic beverages, forgot to ask my brother how he wanted his steak, served three of us when the fourth dinner wasn’t nearly ready (do you start to eat even though someone else has no food, or wait while your dinner gets cold?) and brought the check without ever asking if we wanted coffee or dessert (we would have, but decided to skip it.) We were gathering for a birthday dinner, as I had informed the staff when I made the reservation and again several times while we there, but the birthday was totally ignored. But the worst problem of all: the food! The steak was gristly, the marinara sauce tasted like it came from a can at Top’s Market, the salad was nothing but lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, and a chicken dish was so dry and tough that my husband could not cut it, plus the stuffing promised by the menu was non-existent (they eventually agreed not to charge us for that order.) This restaurant is definitely “not ready for prime time.” I am always reluctant to post something that may hurt an independent business person, but I feel it’s more important in this case to warn unsuspecting diners away from poor, overpriced food and terrible service.

My experience was excellent! Salmon and sides were delicious! Relaxing atmosphere with a pianist playing. I do and will recommend this restaurant to others. Thank-you I will be back.

Decent food, not the best venue. It’s a basement essentially.
