Mala is the reason why I love sichuan cuisine! Their dry pot is honestly wonderful & is the one thing that you have to get no matter what!! On top of that their Dan Dan noodles aren’t bad at all & fried chicken is a great combo of sweet & spicy!

Reasonable pricing and good food we ordered a whole fish, large spicy dry pot, tofu&shittake, dan dan noodles, fried rice, and cold noodles as an appetizer. Enjoyed all of it, the dry pot feels especially worth wait wasn’t long either despite the number of dishes we ordered.

Bad service at Mala Restaurant. They have no politeness at all, and everything goes so fast. As a 1st come-in customer, I go directly to front door and order. No menu is provided. They don’t ask if this is a dine in or take out, and they assume it’s a takeout by default. That’s so confusing and you can’t choose where to sit. They even blame you for not being clear in the first place. But do act nicer when I switch to dine in. If you want to try spicy Chinese food in a crowded and cheaper way. I suppose it’s the right place.

[5/5, Allston, MA] Look at the size of that bowl – it’s ridiculous. $40 for that bowl. For the first time in my life, I wished a mala spicy pot had more vegetables. The lamb skewers and squid skewers were amazing – must order! The szechuan chicken was spicy and crispy. I’m coming back for sure.
