I stumbled upon this Indian restaurant while browsing nearby options. The man at the counter was incredibly welcoming and delivered top-notch service. The setting is quaint—a compact cafe with just three tables, making me believe most patrons opt for takeout. I tried the schezwan chicken fried rice and chicken lollipops. Regrettably, they fell short of my flavor expectations and would just rate it average.

Omg last minute my friend and I changed our plans and wanted to meet up midway from SL and Katy. I found this family own Indian restaurant and it did not disappoint! We got here right at 11am when they opened order order lunch.

Being African American, and trying different culture foods, I would have to say Mahek Indian restaurant is fabulous. I love there butter chicken, garlic Naan, and their fried rice with chicken. All three I can eat daily. Portions size are worth the money

Loved the food. Some of the absolute best chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had! It had just the right amount of spice, nice caramelized onion and butter notes, with just the right amount of cream. The samosa was flavorful and came with a wonderful herby sauce that had a tamarind layer hidden at the bottom. The garlic naan was good too. Everything is a la carte so the total quickly added up. Kinda on the pricey side, but we’ll worth it. I highly recommend this place!!

8 of us went there recently on a lark since it seemed to be a new restaurant in the area. But to our first surprise, It was more like a little dhaba in a gas station, than a real restaurant – the 8 of us took up more than 50% of the seating space. However, we really enjoyed the food with the appetizers (chats) being surprisingly good. They had a sufficient variety of veg & non-veg main dishes. We ordered some standard Indian dishes like tadka daal, palak paneer, chicken tikka masal, onion kulcha etc. All our dishes came out very quickly but (2nd surprise) were also surprisingly tasty and well cooked. They had a variety of on-site made Indian sweets which were also surprisingly fresh and authentic. While the bonhomie of the 8 of us meeting together after a long time made it a fun evening, part of the fun was finding this little gem in the rough. Will definitely recommend to all in the area if looking for good home cooked Indian food to take out.
