Nice little restaurant, food is tasty, with good menu selection. All the wait staff were wonderful, except for the older lady serving us. I don’t think she deliberately was trying to frustrate us, but wrong food orders, unbrought drinks, combining 2 different orders to one plate, and then serving it without saying anything (that person ate both and when other asked for their’s, she said it was on the others plate). Celebrating a birthday and we brought a cake, she total us it was $1.50 per person to eat, which we told her that was fine. She never gave us plates to place our cake servings on or a knife to cut, Just charged us 1.50 each.(party of 8). With a $400 + bill, you would expect more attention. Because of this only 4 stars.

This a cozy Japanese restaurant that was open on New Year’s Day. That was a definite plus, since I hadn’t had any Ozoni yet.

Been going to Maguro-Ya for years. I moved away for some time, came back and was really excited to have my favorites again. To my dismay, I found that the standards have slipped drastically. My go-to was always the yosei nabe. It used to come full to the brim with a crab claw, couple of shell on shrimps, clams, mussels, and plenty of veggies and tofu. The last couple of time I went back to get it (had to give it a second chance because I thought it was a fluke), I was so disappointed to find 1 sad looking peeled shrimp, maybe 4-5 clams, two mussels, and not much veg for $33. The other dishes were not much better and I didn’t think the sashimi was all that fresh. To be fair, some of the dishes that use cheaper ingredients are still pretty decent in size like the katsus and cheaper cut fish. I understand the whole inflation thing and the pain to keep operations going, but I’m sad to see quality and quantity go so far south for this former favorite hang out.

Saturday date night sushi meal at Maguro-ya. Very fresh and delicious meal. Authentic Japanese food with an extensive menu from basics, teishoku, and speciality items to fully chef’s choice (omakaze). Really enjoyed the meal. Thank you Maguro-ya!

Paid parking. Reservation is preferrable. I would recommend the maguro teishoku. Service is great. Temperature checked upon entrance. Good food! Check it out!

It’s very good Japanese food and selection, maybe the menu is too exhaustive. The overall quality and taste is good. Service was somewhat underwhelming seems like they are strapped for staff.
