Brisket was thickly cut and dry, yet still had an amazing amount of fat attached (1/2 inch). Mac & Cheese wasn’t what I expected, dry as well. Not creamy. Pork sausage was weird. No other words to describe it.

Nice atmosphere as you walk in but stuffy. Service was slow but waitress was moderately friendly. The harvest salad was good and refreshing. The bbq brisket nachos was good but brisket was fatty which is ok but dry at same time. Smoked sausage was ok, smoked Turkey was dry, collards were bland but ok. Was good location to hotel so did the trick. Wouldn’t go back for bbq.

We were in from out of town. Stumbled upon Magnolia by chance & everything was DELICIOUS! HUGE portions- get one dinner to split with another person- I would never have been able to eat it by myself! The staff is super friendly too, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall a great experience on my visit to Boston! I do not have a single complaint!

The staff here are awesome, the food is generally always good, but recently I feel it’s going downhill. The new menu choice has taken away some good items, coupled with the bar being completely understocked yesterday (31st Jan 2020) seems like someone has taken the foot off the pedal. Hoping this review prompts some positive action so I can edit this review for 5 stars. Thanks!

I like going when it’s low key. The bar is a typical old neighborhood vibe. Decent selection of beers on draft, I personally haven’t had any of the cocktails. In regards to the food, I tend to stick with the individual smoked meats which are great. Surprisingly the dry rubbed wings are a real sleeper. If you live in the area, def worth a drop in.

Everything we ordered was very well executed. In general, the place under-seasons dishes, though this just makes the excellent préparation stand out more. My steak tips were truly rare, not medium, not raw, but rare (a rarity in most restaurants). Kitchen was a bit slow, considering the place was half empty. Live jazz downstairs helps to liven the mood. Definitely recommend.

Wow! Just had dinner there and it was great. Large portions of excellently prepaired food. Great atmosphere to the place, warm and friendly. Our server was fast, fiendly and knowledgeable. Really great no stress place to eat. The chef Dave was right out front making and overseeing the preparation of our dinner. He’s quite a guy. Says he practically lives in the restaurant. And the quality of the food and atmosphere of the restaurant shows this. Superior!

They changed their menu (Feb 2018) and the portions are smaller. All of our food waited for my son’s macaroni and cheese to be ready, so my sandwich was good but cool. They changed fries to steak fries from shoestring and ours were underdone. They made us a fresh batch to bring home which was nice.
