We found this little gem off the main drag in the woods.

I want to start by saying the restaurant options in Tahoe aren’t the best, but this place is one of a few that I would recommend and revisit. It’s not the easiest to find, I got some help along the way from a couple who had just left. It’s inside the desolation hotel on the top floor (you have to go up a couple flights of stairs/elevator to get there). The restaurant is quaint and has a trendy feel to it. I would recommend reservations, but they also take walk ins. The staff was phenomenal, helpful with suggestions, personable and polite. The meal was well paced, I ordered the Tuna crudo, filet mignon, and the chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. The filet was my favorite, it was cooked to perfection, tender, and a filling portion. Maggie’s is a much needed and very welcome addition to the dining scene in Tahoe. I look forward to another visit next time I’m in the area.

Awesome experience here. We got sat right away. Food was great. Staff was attentive. Atmosphere was also really good. We ordered the clams as the starter, Chilaquiles, and the Chicken Fried Pork Belly. All were delicious. Looking forward to coming back.

Here’s the scoop. This is an unassuming small restaurant in the old motel neighborhood steps from the casinos. The third-floor deck is set among the trees including one in the middle of the deck and the small indoor dining and bar area is inviting and cozy with a TV to watch sports.

It was OK. The french toast was soggy and the pork belly was bland. The potatoes and expresso drinks were good. We were seated and ignored for a long time until the food arrived and then ignored again until the check. Coming from Miami and spending half of the time traveling we have high expectations, this was a disappointment. There are far better local places.

We had our book club meeting here. Hailey out server was super sweet and accommodating! And the busser was too. They gave us reservations for the patio but typically it’s first come first serve for the patio. The menu is pricey so shared appetizers and split an entree. The snapper with pasta was delicious and a good portion even split. The peanut butter cheese cake was the highlight along with the espresso matinee made with tequila!

Maggie’s is a small and cozy restaurant located on the third floor of the desolation hotel. We were lucky to walk in for dinner on a Saturday night.

Came by for Dinner last night and was blown away I literally had to come back for breakfast. The food is amazing & the service is fantastic. The bar program is the best in Tahoe. Highly recommend checking out the cocktail menu. Will be coming back every time I make my way to Tahoe. The restaurant is also family & dog friendly . Can’t beat that !!
