My first time to visit this restaurant was on the evening of Mother’s Day. The pros are: very good roasted salsa, an interesting menu with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and a good drink selection. The cons: no silverware and napkins, (I had to take them from another table) a waiter that was not very attentive and extra fees on our ticket with no explanation. I called the restaurant and asked what the fees were for. They are service fees for using a credit card. So use cash! Also, sales tax were charged on the service fees. This wasn’t much money since we had a small party, but could add up with a big party. An explanation of the service fees should be noted on the check before you pay. We didn’t even see the check before we paid at the hostess stand. I did not care for this arrangement. There was no time to make sure the charges were correct.

Often as a foodie, we eat with our eyes especially if the chef is artistically creative in arranging the plate. Madre’s is a place that loves to welcome all customers into their space especially Andrea, with a cheerful greeting. Andrea was an outstanding and very attentive waitress. Andrea made sure you were happy with everything. The decorative vibes visually transports you to various villages in Mexico with authentic music softly playing in the background. The menu displays choices that aim to treat your palate to fresh, highly seasoned goodness from the salsa, chips, appetizers and entrees. The Street corn shaved from the cob was amazing. The chicken enchiladas were picturesque with the chef adding a delicious blend of mole and green sauce. The white rice and black beans were the real deal. All these flavors danced a happy tune as each option bloomed into a vibration of sheer goodness. The manager and hostess ( Andrea) gave the history of Madre’s that made the food journey beyond amazing! Thanks again Andrea!

I give them a 2.5 star overall, numbed it to the 3 star based on the round up rule. Madre’s Mexican Kitchen what shall I say? The ambiance and decor was soothing, inviting and pleasant. Our hostess/table side steward was friendly.

I hate to say that this is the worst Mexican food we have ever had. We arrived for a late lunch and there were plenty of tables yet they sat us in a back corner next to a supply table. The smell of the disinfectant was very strong and we smelled it throughout our lunch. Our server was the only bright spot in our visit. The chips weren’t bad but the salsa tasted like it was just tomatoes.

I ordered a la carte so I could stay keto. Chris was very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend Madre’s. The flavors were on point.

Sensational. Probably the best and most underrated Mexican restaurant in south Tulsa. They have outstanding quality cuisine at a great price point. Marvelous service as well. Can’t wait to come back.

Tried a new place tonight. We were seated right away. Took a bit for the waitress to come by. She admitted that she was new, but immediately offered to get answers to our questions. Chips were a little oily, salsa was good. Ordered fajitas and serving was huge. Guacamole was good and a good portion with the meal. Beans have a spicy quality which I enjoyed. Would have liked to see some vegetarian options, as Mexican restaurants can have some incredible choices, but options were limited.
