Everyone was recommending their Mufaletta and I was there for the recommendation. But the truth is the best of their shop was their heartwarming welcoming. They also have a good selection of spice and some Italian food material for cooking. There was a stage next to the shop. According to their blackboard, there will be some live music if you happen to visit at the right time. How fun! We weren’t visit at the live music time, but can imagine how fun it will be.

Great hole in the wall restaurant. Go here for all your Italian cooking needs and stay for their own offerings on the menu. We ordered the bruschetta, gumbo and meatballs. All of it was among some of the best Italian food we’ve eaten. This place has been here for decades and while Galveston is known for its seafood, you should come here for some great food also. Small eating area. Great staff.

Incredible find in the West Market area of Galveston. Within walking distance from the Strand and a quick drive from the beach, Maceo’s is a hidden gem. A unique combination of delicatessen and world market, Maceo’s has a homey feel with the friendliest staff. Service was super fast even during a lunch rush and staff was extremely attentive and kind. The muffuletta was DELICIOUS and brought me back to New Orleans with the first bite. Definitely my new favorite sandwich spot on the island.

What a fantastic place. You can so easily pass it up & never know what a gem you missed. Hands down the best muffuletta I’ve ever tried. Gumbo delicious too. Service was fantastic & so many cool spices & Italian items to buy. I once owned a Italian restaurant & we used the best tomato sauce we could find -STANISLAUS TOMATOES. I’ve never seen it sold in stores & this places has it. They also has a great selection of black & white truffle sauces – that I can’t wait to try. Definitely check this place out.

Great spot for live music in the summer. Love their pesto sauce, My husband LOVES their meatball sub special on Thursdays. We went for brunch & I was very disappointed. I had their biscuits and gravy which was cold and not very good. My hubs had their chicken & waffles which was good. Our friends enjoyed their gumbo. Mr. Maceo is always kind & friendly. Staff is always & service is always great.

Simply incredible! I can’t believe how good this food was. This was a muffuletta and crawfish etouffee. I was blown away! The bread was so amazing. Everything had so much flavor. All of it was just wow!

Wow, an amazing experience for a small market/sandwich shop. Great Cajun dishes and Italian sandwiches. Highly energized staff that functioned as a team and took care of business. The crawfish etouffe was the best I’ve had. The Italian sub was also very good. The place is a bit tight on space with few tables and several rows of great Italian and Cajun products on shelves. But it is colorful and casual and a joy.
