Ma Lessie’s Chicken & waffles was very delicious!!! Very good tasting southern food. The chicken was seasoned very well and had great sides with very healthy portion sizes. The prices were reasonable. Be prepared to wait in line for at least 20mins, because good food is worth waiting for. We will return

You’d better bring an appetite! I got the classic chicken and waffles with collard greens. A HUGE drumstick and 2 thighs, and giant serving of tender collard greens. Absolutely perfect! The chicken is moist and the skin is crisp, seasoning speaks for itself. To my dismay I couldn’t eat it all even though I had skipped breakfast. The line was quick, staff was efficient and friendly. Make this a must on your Reading Terminal Market list.

As a 1st timer to Philly, everytime we walked through the Reading Terminal, the line at Ma Lessie’s was long. Since its my last day in town, I had to give em a try.

Came to Philly for the first time last week and saw the line at Ma Lessies at Reading Terminal was longer than anywhere else and who can say no to chicken and waffles! So I waited in line 40 min. The portion size is insane lol. I enjoyed the fried chicken. Wasn’t a fan of the waffles, different flour consistency then I am used to. I chose the candied yams for my side and wish I had tried the Mac and cheese instead. Just too sweet for me. The consistency of the yams was good. So overall I would definitely go back for the chicken and just get different sides.

Customer was good. I waited in line for 20-25 mins maybe a 30. For burnt dry mac&cheese. The catfish is salty the cabbage is ok. The staff should be in hair nets facial nets as well. I was told by a customer in line the food was good. I wanted to give it a try & definitely support a black owned business.

I just want to say that I traveled here to purchase my dinner. The food and the service was phenomenal. Everything was cooked well and tasted delicious. This is now my stop in when I come to Philadelphia. The sister that I met was beautiful. I send my blessings for continued overflow. The menu is amazing and that peach cobbler will make you dance. It was so good

Delicious fried chicken! Mac cheese was excellent but my favorite was their candy yams. I’ll be back for sure!

The 20-30 min wait in line should tell you right off the bat about how good the food is gonna be! Southern fried chicken with ALL the sides you want. Good people makin good food! Not much room near by to find a seat but grab your food and find somewhere in the building because it always tastes better hot n fresh! Would recommend, especially if you southern!

These ribs are incredible. Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. They fall right off the bone. I see some complaints about their Mac and cheese but I think it’s really tasty. I came before and got some fried chicken and enjoyed that too. Sorry I ate the ribs then thought about taking a picture… lol
