If you ever wonder where to get Dominican food in Bergen county, there is absolutely no need to drive all the way to Manhattan. All one got to do is stop by Lula’s Latin Cuisine in Lodi. You will not only get an absolutely delicious food by an amazing host/owner, Reimy and his team. I had the privilege of stopping by tonight to finally get one of the specials rabo guisado (oxtail stew), white rice with black beans for takeout. Upon arrival, their small parking lot in front is shared with another establishment off the busy Essex Street. It’s a small establishment with a great selection of food. There were some seatings by the window, but predominately takeout. Their price was reasonable and portion size decent. The food was tasty, well seasoned and delicious as a sign that they put love in preparing their food. This was my first time here but certainly not the last which I can recommend.

I wouldn’t DARE come backe here. I was at this same location about a month ago and the Pernil was 10.99 per pound, now 16.99 PER POUND ARE YOU CRAZY?! I can and will go to the store and purchase a pork.shoulder and make it myself you can buy a whole one for 8 to 10 bucks in the store and the then the stewed beef was 17.99 per pound… THATS INSANE !.ended up paying about 25 dollars .. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANYONE COME HERE…I’VE NEVER SEEN PRICES LIKE THAT FOR SUCH LITTLE FOOD. Swapped prices 6$ more in about a month. They can kiss me where the sun don’t shine.

Thee best authentic Dominican food in Bergen County. Truly tastes like homemade food from your mom, tia or grandma. I’ve been a customer since their previous location and the service and food is still just as excellent. Sancocho is something I wouldn’t eat from just anywhere but omg Lula’s is to die for! The pernil, moro and spaghetti never disappoint either. I can confidently order anything and know I’ll be satisfied! Highly recommend this place!!

SO, my wedding was this Saturday that just passed. I catered from Lula and it was delicious. The people could NOT stop talking about the pernil, chicaron de pollo and the rice!!!!! It was delicious, don’t regret getting them to cater my wedding at all.
