I gave it two stars because I felt bad for the waitress and my husband really liked his fish! we got there just after the lunch rush so there were no clean tables. My roast beef and potatoes were cold. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again~

The cajun grilled shrimp, baked potato, white beans, and slaw were fantastic! Price was very reasonable and the waitresses were friendly! I’ll definitely be back!

I come here from NYS to visit my in-laws and the food will not disappoint. If you’ve ever had catfish up north, you will be thrilled with Luke’s. Just being fresh, makes all the difference. Love the hushpuppies, too!

Lovely waitress! Diner food- plentiful but not fancy. Food was delivered lukewarm, but waitress heated it up. Roast Beef was tender and flavorful.

It’s hard to find an old-fashioned restaurant like Luke’s, where pies are made fresh every day, the plate lunch and catfish filet specials are affordable, and they still take personal checks. Luke’s is located alongside U. S. 51 which stretches over 1,200 miles from the Wisconsin-Michigan border to New Orleans. The highway was a dependable income producer for small towns before interstates sucked the traffic and hungry travelers away, so nowadays, Luke’s is kinda off the beaten path. You reach the restaurant on two-lane roads (36 miles from Paducah, KY, 23 miles from Fulton, KY; 55 miles from Cape Girardeau, MO) but if you like catfish and home cooking, it’s worth the trip. Prices are reasonable: meat + two and drink for $5.99; and the senior catfish filet special – baked or French fried potatoes, slaw, hushpuppies and soup beans (simmered for hours if not days) – is $6.99 plus your beverage. There were seven different kinds of pies on the menu today; the iced tea was fresh and strong, the restaurant was cheerful and clean, and the hush puppies were absolute perfection: crispy outside, tender inside. Luke’s also has a feature that is fast disappearing from the American landscape: a smoking section.
