Luisa’s is exceptional on multiple fronts. It’s that rare dining experience you hope to have, but so seldom get.

Good food makes a good restaurant, but it’s the details that separate a good restaurant from a great one. About details, Louisa’s knocks it out of the park. From the traditional Italian decorations on the walls to the spotless, clean, utensils and plates, my family and I felt the passion and care of the restaurant staff and Louisa. We arrived without a reservation, but the the waiter found us a nice table and treated us like VIPs. We asked about Louisa and he patiently told us her story. There were spacious and clean restrooms. Along with that, the food was just as good as their service. This great restaurant definitely deserves five stars.

Perfectly cooked pasta dishes with decent texture from starch release and a good amount of cheese. Served in perfect temperature. Reasonably priced. In particular, carbonara is flavorful. Pollo Alfredo also rich and creamy. Pizza is good but there’s no surprise. Patio seatings are decent. They turned on the warmer. Cooking wait time is reasonable.

I ordered tuna pizza, bruschetta and tiramisu. It was delicious. Bruschetta cross but soft at the same time. Yummy. A simple non fancy restaurant with class. Nice waiters. Very authentic. I enjoyed it.

It was just ok. Not what we were expecting, actually less. Fairly pricey for what the bring to the table, literally! The garlic bread was butter and garlic, not savory at all, no marinara came with it and you had to buy it as an app. No oil and vinegar and bread as we are used to in other Italian restaurant’s upon seating.

Small, historic family owned restaurant with great tasting homemade Italian food. We ordered the herbed lamb shank with fettuccine which delicious with tender herbed lamb and perfectly cooked fettuccine and herbed sauce, and the lobster ravioli in vodka sauce. Homemade pasta, tasty lobster filling and delicious sauce. All entrees seem to be a la cart as we were not served any bread or vegetables with the meal. We shared a tiramisu cake which was also delicious and homemade. Attentive and personable waitstaff.

Just finished the best pasta meal I ever had. The Gnocchi and Spaghetti and Meatballs are to die for. If you are considering pasta in San Francisco come to Luisa’s and you won’t regret it. To top it off we had the pleasure to meat Luisa who has been making pasta here since 1959. A sweet lady that has the best Italian recipes.

Ordered Prawn Risotto. Excellent. 95 year old Luisa visits each table and engages in a little mischief with each group. Unfortunately they’ll be closing soon. So try and visit soon.

Overall we really enjoyed our meal here. We were seated by the window and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Service was excellent our waiter was very quick at refilling our water and quick at anticipating our needs.
