Awesome sourdough crust. Awesome cheese. Owner went above and beyond to take car of us during our visit and it was a great experience. Enjoyed a game of foosball while we waited for our food. Shares a door (and restroom) with the bar next door – you can have your pizza there if you want a bar drink with your food and/or want to play pool.

This is THE BEST pizza in Auburn. If Anthony Bourdain were still alive and visited Auburn, this is where he would go. The pizzas at Lucky Js are a perfect meeting of traditional expectations, and creative variation. The sauce is tangy and generous, toppings on every bite, and sometimes you can hardly even see underneath all the toppings they include. Whenever I have people visiting from anywhere outside of the area, this is where I order pizza from. The wings are amazing, and the dine in experience, while it isn’t exactly Michelin star, is perfect for exactly what Lucky J’s is. A truly unique and wonderful gem in a marketplace oversaturated by dominos rip offs.

We wanted to try another pizza place and decided to come here just by reading the reviews. The photo alone will tell you why I gave a 2 star. The pizza was greasy. And this was the first time I ate pizza where the toppings fell off from the dough. We had to use forks to scoop it up. The toppings weren’t so bad though. I also paid a price for a high end pizza but was disappointed.

I have watched and tasted over the years as local pizza places got worse and worse. Cheaper and cheaper ingredients with a near total loss of flavor. I mean Dominos had the best tasting sausage toward the end! Lucky J’s has been our go to pizza place for two years now and the quality of ingredients is top notch. Every ingredient tastes like the best representation of that ingredient.

Sourdough pizza?!?! So effing good! Got the last off the rack middle of the night before the next batch came out and dude gave us a discount. I chatted him down as a fellow restaurant bread baker and he was super nice! Then, we absolutely devoured the pizza as soon as we got to the car. The sourdough crust does wonders for the shelf life of the pizza. And the cheese was deliciously unique. We’re hooked, going back as much as possible.
