The Lucky Dog is always such an amazing experience. You will with no doubt leave full and totally happy with everything you could get. My family and I have been here a handful of times and it is consistent in the quality of the food as well as the service. The space can get a bit cramped but the meal will distract you from that altogether. The escargot was a dream, the oysters were PHENOMENAL, the lobster was amazing, their swordfish Mozambique was also spectacular. Definitely add this to your list of MUST GO’S you will not regret it!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. EVERYTHING exceeded expectations. We didn’t have a reservation but they squeezed us in with the condition that we could finish up within an hour. I’m so happy we agreed. Our waitress (sorry I don’t remember your name) was efficient, intuitive and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with stuffed mushrooms and the seafood sampler. Both were fresh and delicious. Our entrees were prime rib and steak tips. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, melted in your mouth and had incredible flavor! The same can be said for the steak tips. We ended our evening with the bread pudding and again it was amazing. All of this was accomplished in 1 hour and I never felt rushed. I will definitely return because there are so many items on the menu that I’d love to try but it’ll be difficult not to order the same thing again. Great job Lucky Dog!!!

Food – the quality is outstanding

Went here at 3pm on a Friday afternoon. They get busy quick. If you don’t want to sit at the bar, you have to call for a reservation. We sat at the bar, servers were attentive and very informative. For drinks we ordered red sangria and a couple beers. Pretty good. We ordered RI calamari for apps, giant rings but no tentacles (which are my favorite part) but still good. Wish it was more tender but the flavors were perfect- crispy batter, buttery, and the zesty peppers were delightful. For the maine course we had swordfish mozambique and surf and turf. The fish came with mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and two big shrimps. The steak had two lobster claws and two shrimps. Both meals were cooked to perfection. The Mozambique sauce was excellent! Steak was tender. Seafood tasted fresh.

First of all the service here is some of the best I’ve had. Period. Don’t let the Tavern in the name throw you. This is a first class restaurant that is highly praised, with a loyal local following. Yes, reservations are recommended. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar.

Definitely a must go!! Sherry & Amanda are phenomenal at the bar. The menu is the best. You’ll have a hard time deciding on what to eat. You can’t go wrong.

The drinks were great and very refreshing. The Tuna Tatake & Crab-Scallop-Lobster Cake appetizers were outstanding. We had the stuffed Lazy Mans Lobster & Salmon Oscar for entrees. They were all fantastic. They ran out of the potato croquette for the salmon so had to substitute mixed vegetables, so that was disappointing since I heard so much about them. The service was very good and certainly above what you would expect in a place like North Smithfield, RI….but saying that and re-reading that only brings to light how these non-city restaurants are giving you service, food, and experience that you could only get in the city. This place is so very downtown Boston worthy, if not above it because you get a friendly welcoming feeling not only from staff but also from other diners.

Sherry and Amanda were excellent! Amanda described all of the specials and I decided on baked stuffed lobster. It was SO good! I wish I would have taken a picture of it. Sherry sold us on dessert. You have to go for a superior experience of your own. Make sure you call and make a reservation. No matter when you go, it will be an excellent time. Plates are huge and delicious!!!!
