This is an old, old school Italian restaurant. I think it has been in business for about 30 years and essentially looks today like it did when it opened. Too many dishes to choose from but all are top-notch. They have a full bar and quasi lounge but no bar menu to speak of. This is a disappointment to me because I like a good cocktail or two and I like to try the house specialty. When I first walked in, I was a little concerned. The place is clean but I wasn’t sure about the old school vibe. Our server was bubbly and nice and has worked there for over 10 years. Some of the younger staff not quite as polished. I won’t go there often, but it is a nice addition to other Italian restaurants that I like as well

Well established restaurant, great food and service. I had the best ravioli, and I’ve tried lots. My dad had a club sandwich with fries and he loved his meal. Mom had the same, but with a salad. Both liked the sandwich with fries best.

The best just simply the best is all I can say … I had spaghetti and meatballs and later NO none nada Ziltch on heartburn acid reflux nothing … that’s just awesome and if you have any of those conditions you can surely appreciate what it is I’m saying

Place has been around for a long time and there are two rooms, dining room and bar. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Food is served in very large portions, so come hungry.

Love this place. Homey atmosphere and feels like a big family gathering. But THE FOOD is why I’ll always come back. Sounds like a weird thing to have a preference for, but the warm spinach salad is amazing, and if you can get them to add a salmon filet on top, it will change your life. Prime rib with a perfect baked potato on Thursdays is delicious, and I swear, cooked just right every time. Good meatballs and pastas. Bartender named Jessie is a pro who knows her wine and can make almost anything. I say almost because I haven’t asked for everything. And the desserts are solid. The fresh made lava cake is molten and delicious. Place is big enough for the family, but you might need reservations. Doesn’t get much better in the San Mateo area!

I love to sit at the bar and have dinner. Lots of old timers and locals. The bartenders are just wonderful. Good service, friendly, efficient but not overly chatty. I like to sit at a bar and receive a well made cocktail. Nothing fancy. Its refreshing compared to so many bars who have some flashy, poser with attitude bartender (that can’t make a drink) and makes you wait as they can’t handle a crowd. The food is very good. Not gourmand but reliable good comfort food. The decor in the bar serves well however the main dining room could use a little updating…maybe fresh coat of paint and new carpet. I personally don’t care because I’m happy with the good service and consistently enjoyable menu.
