EDIT: Food Poisoning: The below was my initial review Of this restaurant. However, between 4-6 hours after eating, my wife began vomiting. She had a stiff neck, headache and body aches. Classic presentation of food poisoning. Sooo…these things happen from time to time, but unfortunately I cannot stand by my initial 4-Star rating.

Never ever go here! We found gum baked into the bread and upon asking for our meal to be comped (just 2 of us $70 bill) the owner came out and proceeded to berate me. He said “I don’t want your kind here.” I’m a 29 year old female and he is a much older man. I was not raising my voice, we actually kept the whole thing quiet so the other diners wouldn’t know. He came at me telling me since they buy the bread at a bakery they aren’t responsible. I did not yell nor raise my voice and he continued to get in my face telling me to never come back. I’m still shaking from the experience.

This is my fifth time at this restaurant and I never had a problem before. However, this time we did. My husband and I went to have indoors dinner at Luce, one of our friends spilled his wine on the table making a mess. Instead of our waiter changing the table cloth, the waiter simply put several napkins to soak up the wine and replaced the plates back. It was disgusting. In addition, we all had to clean up the bench sit ourselves since that was covered in wine as well. At this point, we had to explain that when a table is soaking wet, the only solution is to change the whole thing. The waiter seemed confused and clueless about how to do it so we just asked to have a new table cloth brought to us and we did it all quickly and efficiently. At least the food tasted good… but, we tipped the waiter not so well…

We had our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner here in the sunroom and it was perfect! The table setting and room was elegant and the service was top notch. Everyone was raving over the food. It was delicious. Every detail was taken care of by the owner and his superb staff. We didn’t even have to think…just eat! We are so happy and would recommend this restaurant to anyone whether it’s an event or a night out.

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio at Luce. The menu was extensive, the food delicious and our server very gracious. My group had not seen each other in a while and we were not hurried at all. Only drawback…while the patio was lovely, during the day the traffic noise from the street at times was deafening. When I dine here for lunch next time, I will opt for inside. The noise may not be loud at dinnertime.

We stopped here for lunch. The calamari was the absolute best we have ever had. Perfectly cooked. (We ordered a second dish). We had a chicken panini and a portobello panini. Neither of us was super impressed. The service was amazing and the ambience was really nice to just be able to talk with an old friend and catch up.

Great service, great food! To start I had the sirloin tips with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of broccoli rabbi. The other dish pictured was a organic chicken over potatoes and spinach. For desert we had espresso and coffee with cannoli and hot lava cake with homemade ice cream. Everything was delicious! The hostess Nita was super friendly. The wait staff was kind! Definitely recommend this place!

Has to be one of my most favorite restaurants in Middletown! Every time we go we normally get Alex as a waiter and he’s always attentive and has even remembered our drinks. Definitely can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and don’t skip out on dessert.
