My family and I just experienced our first meal and our LAST with this supposedly New and Improved restaurant. The service was unbelievably slow and we just spent 2 hours we can never get back. Our waiter was inattentive and did not seem to even remember we were his table. When after almost 1.5 hours of waiting on the patio for our meals, we approached the hostess and asked if the manager could visit our table. He seemed very defensive before we even explained our situation and only offered us free desserts. I explained that after waiting over 1-1/2 hours for our entrees, no one was longer hungry, dessert did not appeal to us since we were no longer hungry. He seemed upset by our rejection of dessert as a consolation and said he would return later to discuss what he could do. He never returned to our table. Waiting an eternity for our check to arrive, the waiter then explained he discounted 2 items from the appetizer menu (totally $14 on a $98 order) because he understood we had a bit of a wait this evening. At this point, I decided that after being a faithful patron of this restaurant, I will NEVER return. The manager is a spineless wimp who sent a waiter to apologize and give restitution which was his job. I was disgusted and believe that this restaurant has seen its last days. It will not survive in this economy with subpar management and horrible service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WASTING THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY LET ALONE THEIR PRECIOUS TIME AT THIS DUMP!!!!@!!

Worst Service/Expereince I’ve EVER had at a restaurant. We took our friends from Boston here on 10/5/13 for 7:30pm reservations for a party of 11. The new menu looked great so I wanted our Boston friends to have a great dining expereince as it was their first time to Columbus. When we arrived, our table was not ready so we all waited at the end of the bar…and we waited…and we waited….with out ever once being offered a drink by the bartender….seriously. We stood at the end of the bar for 30 minutes without her even saying hello to us or offering our group a cocktail, not even a glass of water….unbelievable. You would think she would want to make money off 11 thirsty people waiting for their table, but not this bartender. At 8:10pm, our table was finally ready(40min after our reservation time). We didn’t even have waters on our table after waiting 40min so the hostess had to bring all of our waters. It took another 10min for a server to show up & after he took our drink orders, he was gone for about another 10min so our entire table got up & walked out. This place was a complete JOKE, and the sad thing is, no one even cared because one of our party guest tried asking for a manager with no luck. It was like all 11 of us were completely invisible for the hour we were there. I have never experienced anything like this before in my 23 years of living in Columbus. This place lost out on a lot of money that night and they didn’t even give a crap. All 11 of us ended up walking next door to Thai Orchid which had great food and stellar service!

One of the WORST restaurants I have ever been to in my entire life. There are so many problems with this place it is absolutely ridiculous. How is this place still standing? The staff is clueless, the menu is awful, and the place doesn’t even look that nice. I’m good friends with someone who used to work there as a busser, and from what I know is that the manager is the most unprofessional person ever. Charles is his name I believe from when I went to eat there back in April. This place is going downhill fast, and whoever works there, I would highly recommend finding a new job because I’m hoping that Luce Nuovo is long gone in 4 months or less. TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Wed June 12, 2013 I met Pat and Barbara, friends over 30 plus years at Luce Nuovo in Powell. Recently renovated and a new menu offering, I wanted to see if this neighborhood restaurant had improved under new management and new Executive Chef Derek Michael. The 3 of us had a totally delicious 3 course dinner and our waitress was a delight and the best part was seeing Derek and tasting his wonderful dishes. We all have known Derek 30 plus years!!! Kudos to Derek for his work to create a wonderful new menu and we enjoyed the Shrimp Risoto, hands down the best I had ever had. The lemon zest and fresh basil and pistachios were a treat to our palettes. Then out came the deserts…Oh my goodness, from the Italian Donuts dipped in a wonderful warm cocoa based sauce to the gelato. Thanks Derek and we will be back. Keep up the good work.

The service at this restaurant is inconsistent and slow. Nearly one full hour from the time we ordered until our meals were ready. The manager offered absolutely nothing when we complained. I doubt I’ll be eating here again anytime soon.

Very good food, nice server, nice atmosphere with live jazz. Menu is small and nothing on there that is crazy unique. Will probably eat here again if i find another Groupon deal.
