In 1979 Chef Nawaz Shalwani picked up those skills at Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. He earned accolades working at Marriott Karachi from 1979 – 1981, under Chef Chu. Nurturing flavors in order to make them available to everyone, he inaugurated the Lal-Qila in 2009 currently known as “LQ Tikka & Kabab House”.

We came all the way from Houston to taste LQ tikka kabab house we were so excited to try there food, ordered puri, naan, Wahab qeema fry, beef pasanday, chicken boti everything was just ok naan and puri were so hard that we cannot even take a bite, chicken boti were tasteless, beef pasanday again was not tender the only thing that we like was there kulfi, I’m sorry but we payed more than $80 for food and everything was tasteless, atleast naan and puri should be soft so that we can eat. The 2 stars I’m giving is because the kulfi and Wahab qeema was good

I would like to start out by saying, please be careful when signing event contracts. The details of the contract, especially additional fees and cancellation policies, are not explained by the owner. After reviewing and selecting menu options for the event, the owner will immediately skip to the signing page. The original quoted price per head does not include tax or 18% service charge. Please read every page of their contract. Two days after signing the contract (and 3 months before the event date), I’d called the owner to cancel the event due to personal reasons. And, I was told it cannot be done. Breaking the contract would have meant we pay a large penalty fee, even if it was just 48-hrs after signing. I was able to keep the original date, and was able to proceed as planned, but I was forced to select this location.

The food here is impeccable, and you will quickly realize you are being accompanied alongside a classically trained chef. Whether you are a local, or traveling through, you will find the most authentic Pakistani dishes here. By far, the most memorable dish for me has been their nehari. I highly recommend and encourage anyone in the area to try for themselves and bring anyone else along that would appreciate the most authentic south Asian dishes.
