We stopped by for lunch traveling from an overnight trip to Hunting Island SC and returning to Augusta GA. Did not expect much but was thrilled with our meal. Tilapia was cooked to perfection. We had it grilled and when I say perfection I mean in my 64 years of life I have never had better. Melted in my mouth with such freshness and flavor I am still thinking about it hours later. That and a house salad had us wanting more yet completely satisfied! Whatever oils and seasons they used it sat well on the digestive system. I asked who was the chef and was told he is the owner’s son. Cooking seafood is tricky and at best you hope for something edible but this was in a class all it’s own: perfection! The added bonus was the price. Two incredible meals for under $30! Service was very pleasant and attentive too. Thank you Low Country Seafood for being so enjoyable. If we lived closer we would be there weekly! We will be back next trip to Hunting Island.

Service was super slow..waitress was unaware of new items on menu…the customer service was not good at all. The food was just okay to me nothing to brag about. I guess the smaller towns deal with it as there is nothing else there.

Grew up on this place and the food is still good. I gave it four stars only because service was super slow. Other than that we will eat here again.

We have been coming here for the fried shrimp dinners for years..lately we have noticed their must be a new chef. Shrimp is still great, but the coleslaw, which used to be out favorite side, is not good anymore. It is too chunky and hard to eat..not more finely shredded like before, and too much mayo, not as much great flavor as before. Disappointed.

Have been twice now and have been satisfied both times. Stopped by for lunch and had the shrimp and scallops. Nice portions and delicious. Took my mom for early dinner the second time because it was the only place in town I could find to get steak. We each got the ribeye and seafood. She got scallops and I got shrimp. Was great. Only bad thing is that what they are trying to pass as gator taste alot like turtle. Can’t fool this southern girl.

If you like seafood you will love Lowcountry Seafood in Varnville. We got the captain’s platter and gator bites. Service was fast, we didnt have to wait. Generous portions and everything was cooked to perfection! The staff is very friendly, and the place was spotlessly clean. I hope you’ll try it, they do not disappoint.

I sneak here once every two weeks…lol. A nice quiet cozy spot to collect yourself and have a good meal. Waitresses are awesome, and the heavenly sweet tea is served in a huge cup/glass.

The owner is extremely rude. They charge extra for everything and refuse to reimburse you when you’re charge an up charge for an item they’re out of. If your coming through Varnville and hungry don’t stop here. Just keep heading to Port Royal and check out Dockside “the real” Lowcountry seafood.

Large groups were all crowded in the back room, which is understandable, but it was a full room with 3 groups back there. Food was very good though and it is always busy, so stop by if you’re in town.
