About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

It was the closest Chicago style pizza to me so I gave it a try. They messed up my order and had to wait for it to be made right but they refunded the cost of the pizza which was nice of them. The taste was good but I wish I had it cooked longer, which is an option. I feel the taste would have been better that way. Tiramisu was good and had nice flavors. You can taste the espresso in the lady fingers and thr mini chocolate chips were a nice surprise. The cannoli dip was good I just wish there were more chips. Other then the pizza made wrong and having to wait for it be made right everything was good. Price was higher then I’d like but would return again to get a Chicago style pizza.

Ordered two deep dish pizzas early afternoon with a pickup of 510. Got a call while on the way to picking up stating they were remaking them because they weren’t to their liking. Not able to get the pizzas then until 535. When we got home to eat them, the crust was raw in them. Absolutely terrible. Not only did we have to wait extra long when purposefully ordering early so we would not have to wait; but we also were highly disappointed at having disgustingly raw pizza dough. Paid a small fortune for only toppings since that’s what we salvaged off of them. Never will recommend going here to anyone.

Would love to rate higher as the pizza is good but the app is absolute garbage. Spend 30 minutes trying to order and it continually told me, despite being logged in, that my account doesn’t exist. Won’t be back until it’s fixed. Worst app I’ve ever seen.

My order was wrong (forgot toppings that I was charged for) pizza crust was hard as though it was sitting out, even though I was there in the store waiting for 10 minutes after my scheduled pick up time. Definitely not coming back to this location. Too pricey for what seems to be grocery store-quality pizza.

We tried this place out and I like pizza in general but I have discovered recently deep dish pizza may not be my top preference. My friends and I were satisfied but not feeling over the top. The sauce included with the three cheese bread seemed to be the hit. The crust on the pizza was very dense, understandable with the contents but I couldn’t help but describe it that way for those who have never had this. The portions were good, we were wondering if they would be adequate and it was. The way it’s packed is very neat and professional for carry out. I look forward to trying the pasta with how well the sauce was.

Tried the Lou, not the type of pizza we are used to but it was good. Liked it better the next day.

The all sausage meat crust aka no dough aka Keto pizza was actually very good. It was even tastier the next day! The thin crust was not very good this time.

Ordered online, received confirmation number. Went to pick it up and was told online orders weren’t going through. Was told that I could wait 30 minutes for my order. Kinda defeats the point of ordering online. Manager simply gave attitude. If your system doesn’t work or your employees are too incompetent to figure it out I’ll raise a glass when your location goes out of business. You make pizza. So do hundreds of other places in the area. Thanks for telling me to take my business elsewhere.

This has got to be the worst location possible. Every single time we go here, something is wrong with our order. The foh employees are so inattentive as well. We went today for dinner after being out with tired and hungry kids. We get home and our pizza isn’t even cut! On top of that, it is overcooked and hard. I don’t know why I keep going here but I really need to stop.
