The only place you can find atol de Chuco Salvadoreño!! Take advantage as it is rare to find in a restaurant, so good and only 5 dollars. “Shuco” name of Nahuatl origin, isthe oldest typical hot drink of The Salvador, which is made from fermented corn. Atol Chuco is prepared with black or purple corn because of its distinct flavor, although you can use normal maize.

Best pupusas around! My wife is Salvadoran and she is in love with the food! My mother-in-law even ordered 30 pupusas for a get together. Highly highly recommend this mom-and-pop spot!

Wow ! What a humble little find I found in downtown Hayward ! Los Planes de Renderos is a quaint small little Salvadoran restaurant featuring homemade delicious papusas. I highly recommend the zucchini cheese pupusas and thier accompanying coleslaw. The homemade and fresh combo rice and refried beans are unique and tasty as well. There was plenty of indoor seating when I arrived there and there seems to be plenty of parking in the back off Mission Blvd. as well. Conveniently located nearby is the brand new Heritage park, the new downtown Hayward library and Hayward bart station. The food was so good that I hope to return there often in the near future to dine once again and I highly recommend this eatery for a pleasant nice and different experience in foreign dining for anyone.

Excellent place to dine. I was literally in tears at the welcome that I received. This restaurant treats their customers like family. If you have money, they appreciate your donations for the cost of the food on the menu. If you don’t have money they may give you a free meal. That’s the way Jesus would want it. I give them one suggestion to have live bands their and have dancing. Hayward, CA, the heart of the bay.

Pupusas are very good, service is excellent, down to earth on prices. Reason for not giving 5 stars the size of the pupusas seems a little smaller than a standard pupusa. Parking could be hard if going here when busy.

My family has been coming here for over 15 years, and the food is amazing. However the service could be better. They lost my order and didn’t have it made on time. ( I placed the order a day before) Then instead of apologizing, blamed me for not calling back and confirming the order/paying. The woman who took my order never said anything about paying over the phone in advance. I love the food, so I’ll be back. Just wish they had handled this better. My advice is walk in and order in person. Plan on waiting.
