Mmm! Wanted to come here for awhile and Sunday afternoon was perfect. Not too busy, was seated and got my chips and drink quickly. Salsa is fresh and tasty, Guacamole casero is to die for!!! Fresh chunks of avocado and Pico de Gallo large portion. Beef enchilada well seasoned, a little spicy. The Chile relleno was big, STUFFED with cheese and ground beef, and the pepper had just enough crunch while still being tender. Prices are reasonable, service prompt, and food FRESH and yummy!!!

Great place!!! In Monterey downtown. Very clean inside, food served hot and fresh! Pic#6 is Steak Alambres look at the menu pic its on there. Excellent Margarita and Ice cold beer. This is well worth the short ride off of 40. 2 full size meals 1 margarita 2 Modelo beer $39.00. Really good!!! Their horchata I’d super authentic and comes in a massive MASSIVE stein. I had the allambres, which was delecious. Came SUPER fast too. Joyce did a great job serving!

If you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine, then this is the place for you! They have the best salsa I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I didn’t have the fried ice cream, but my husband and father-in-law did. Take a peek at what it looks like, and according to them tasted fantastic!

I used to frequent the previous establishment. To see the transformation and the amount of work the Agaves folks have done is quite impressive. They have completely redesigned the restaurant very clean and beautiful modern style. Definitely the best restaurant in Monterey food quality/ service/ambiance

It was delicious!! Mexican food is my favorite, so I’m kinda critical about it and love to compare different places to see who has better service, food, etc. The chips were fresh, hot, and perfectly done, and the salsa was yummy with a decent amount of cilantro(important to me! Lol). I got chicken fajita nachos and it was so good! Even the half portion was plenty. The service was good, attentive, and friendly. I would love to come back!

First time and what a nice surprise. The shrimp tacos were perfectly grilled and quite flavorful as were the chicken fajitas. A comfortable atmosphere with excellent service. Definitely a recommend.

My group visited on Cinco de Mayo, the busiest night for them and we were able to be seated and served quickly. The waitress was friendly and the food was good. Was a bit loud at times but nothing bad.
