Food tasted good, was very cheap, sales tax is included on the menu price which I find pretty nice, has an old fashioned feel to it, and they have large slices of homemade pies for just $3. Overall a great experience and staff was very nice

As a proud Southerner from Alabama and a self-appointed expert on country-fried steak, it was quite a shocking experience to find that some of the best country-fried steak I’ve ever had ain’t from the south, but from Loon’s Nest way up in the northern part of MN! What a great place to have breakfast. If y’all ain’t about that gravy life, this place might change your mind! Not to mention the Cinnamon Rolls the size of your head! If I could give 10 stars I would.

This is one of those places that you wish every other place was still like. It’s simple food cooked perfectly, and served in a very clean and friendly environment. I own a restaurant, and this place does it right. The service and food were both spectacular. Definitely come here if you’re looking for a great diner in the area!

A great restaurant that’s been a mainstay with the locals and popular with the hunting and summer crowds for generations. More of a welcoming ‘diner’ atmosphere. The staff is down-home friendly and efficient. Good stick-to-your-ribs food and very reasonably priced. Bring cash or check, no credit cards. A pleasant twenty year tradition for me and my daughters, and now my granddaughter. I highly recommend.
