Our server was awesome. Food was meh. Prime Rib was not juicy at all – kind if dry. Also got the steak salad the meat was OK but once again, was dry. The lettuce leaves were somewhat wilted – no excuse for that really.

We’ve been dining at this restaurant for years and generally have had good experiences. Our latest visit, however, the portion sizes were tiny. The hamburger bun did not even cover the patty. The baked potatoes were half the previous size. Everything was still tasty, but the sizes were unacceptable.

Coconut Shrimp (new menu item) is six coconut-breaded shrimp served with sweet pepper dipping sauce. This dish is all about the shrimp. The coconut and very little breading coated the outside and were fried to a perfect golden brown. The coconut flavor expertly complemented the shrimp by adding a slight sweetness. Texture was crispy on the outside with succulent, juicy shrimp on the inside. The dipping sauce was sweet but not too sweet with fresh, sweet bell pepper flavor. The presentation, however, needs a little work – either use a smaller plate or increase the serving to 8 shrimp to fill the plate better. Thumbs up!

Went here for a friend’s birthday. I ordered the prime rib and added “grilled” onions and mushrooms. I ordered my prime rib medium, but what I received was a piece of meat that may have once been a “medium” prime rib, but was now a dried out, well done hunk of junk that was at least three hours past the time from when it should have been thrown out. I am not exaggerating when I say that no responsible person could have possibly served what I received with a clear conscience without knowing that it would be sent back. To make things worse, my “grilled” onions and mushrooms were disgusting. They had obviously been microwaved, not grilled, and the mushrooms were very obviously CANNED. Canned mushrooms! This place is a joke.

Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I’m a serious carnivore and was looking for a good place for steaks. From the atmosphere to the food, you can’t beat it. The wife and I split the big ribeye steak and it was more than enough. I highly recommended it.

Just a sub-par experience at Lone Star. I came here yesterday with a group of friends to enjoy a hearty lunch. Since we were undecided on what to eat, my friend suggested this steakhouse due to his past experiences. Lone Star is located on Irvine Blvd in between Newport and Redhill. Parking is not issue due to its location in a outdoor shopping plaza.

I love this place. I go here a few times a year with friends and family. Many people I know prefer other steak houses and that’s fine, I enjoy the atmosphere here and the staff is very friendly. Most importantly, the food is great. 😀

Over priced and under par. Sizzler is way better than this place and cheaper. Wedge salads aren’t like any others as they charge you for the bacon bits? Seriously? Soups were runny and lacking any flavor. Huge disappointment…..and server wasnt any help at all 🙁

Ok, let me start of by admitting I grew up in Texas, so obviously I’m going to be picky when it comes to steakhouses. I do love the salads, especially the cobb because they don’t skimp on the quality toppings and the ranch is great. However, the ribs make me sad (most ribs in socal make me sad though). Baby backs are supposed to be slooooooow smoked so the fat melts into juicy perfection, not quickly steamed. They’re better than many other places in the oc, and I do like the sauce, but they’re just missing that extra love that so many southerners have for bbq.

Best steaks at any price. My fav is the 8 once Filet, no bacon, medium rare.
