Went to Lola’s for the first time on Sunday 7/16 at ~345pm to get some Spanish takeout. I found meter parking right outside the restaurant. It is a small, compact place, clean and well organized. I Explained to the manager it was my first time there and she was extremely helpful in helping me with my order. I ended up ordering a large jerk chicken over yellow rice, large beef short ribs with onions over yellow rice, an order of yucca, and an order of sweet plantains. Cost for all that was around $44, which struck me as a little pricey, but the quality of the food is undeniable. So far, I have turned my beef short ribs into three separate meals, and the meat was amazingly tender and flavorful. Ditto for the jerk chicken, my wife said it was simply wonderful, spicy and very flavorful but not too spicy. I was very happy with the level of service I got, and the fact that they took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. I am Going back there again today to get more food. They seem to have somewhere in the order of 15 to 20 different dishes available, so the best way to pregame is to look at their online menu before you get there.

I literally ate here everyday during my most recent work trip in the area. Everything I tried was delicious!

I stopped in for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, not really knowing what I wanted or much about Dominican food. The menu is accessible only through the QR code, which I didn’t scan. The cashier lady with short hair was very helpful, and she gave suggestions. I got the eggplant dish with rice and plantains. It was flavorful! Service was good.

Walked in waited 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge my presence. When I asked what foods they had on the menu for today the lady replies “what we have everyday” I don’t know what they have “everyday” as this was my first time there. I proceeded to ask if they had anything different in the back which the lady snarky replied ” people think we’re hiding food in the back, what’s wrong with people?” At this point, the negative energy was way off and I asked the lady if she could hold on a second while I look in which she replies “thank you for wasting my time” I walked out. Never again! They have to understand they are NOT the only Dominican Restaurant in the area. If you can’t be respectful to paying customers, close shop. I don’t foresee this place being anything other than what it is a run down shop. Should’ve stayed closed down with that attitude.

I have tried this place a few times and tried different dishes to see if I find something I like but all the Foods have a weird taste, like kinda sweet I don’t know how to explain it but it’s dose not taste like the tradition Spanish food we are all use too that’s for sure. The empanadas are ok. Juices are good but overpriced. The food is very overpriced especially for what you get portion wise. I would look elsewhere if you looking for that traditional Spanish flavor. Also the lady with the red hair in the front is very rude and unpleasant to deal with. Not sure if she’s the manager or owner but she would definitely benefit from some kind of customer service training or maybe not be in the front at all.

My husband and I were visiting a friend in Yonkers. We got hungry and saw the restaurant Lola on the grill. When we got inside. We wanted to order a little of everything we saw. But we ordered rice and beans, steak with onions, pernil, mangu, and sweet plantains. The food was delicious. The restaurant is small and very clean with a tropical atmosphere. We highly recommend this place if you live or visit Yonkers.

The older woman with the short reddish haircut who might be the owner/manager is very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. She needs to learn how to provide better customer service to ALL the customers that come in and support her business because without us there is no Lola on The Grill. Surprising the younger staff (Ex: Hispanic male with dreads) are very polite, helpful and patient.

Yummy yummy yummmmyyyyyyyy! From the min you walk in, not only you are welcomed by the beautiful aromas of Dominicana, but also a cozy & warm decor, plus the smiles of the beautiful Dominicanas, welcoming you. Oh there is a super sexy Dominicano too . The food is right in your face and your mouth waters inmediatamente! You simply cannot make a decision because you want to buy it all. They have delicious fresh juices & local Dominican snacks that bring you back to your childhood. I got food to go and could not wait to eat. One of my top fav Dominican food. Highly recommend it! P.s: clean & fresh as a diamond!
