Lola 55 is a great taco place in San Diego. Their tacos are inventive and a mix of great flavors. The fish tacos are a must. Service is quick, with food coming out within 10 minutes of ordering. The atmosphere is similarly nice, with tall ceilings in a light-filled space.

Really delicious tacos with unique pairings. We got a few different variations and they were all delicious. Also great side choices.

Service: Let me start by saying this was not the bartender’s fault, she was very friendly and quick but she was also making drinks and running the register, during dinner hours, which struck me as very poor planning on someone’s part that wasn’t hers. With two larger parties and a few drink orders, the line to order was backed up for at least 15 minutes

Great tacos and the bartenders are suuuuper friendly. The tacos are small but thats more opportunity to order more! I got the fish, rainbow cauliflower, and squahsroom tacos & elote. I’d recommend the squa-shroom & the cauliflower. The mushrooms and fish were heavily breaded &deep fried, but still very tasty.

Not traditional, but creative and very flavorful tacos. That was the best taco place I tried in downtown (see my reviews for the other ones). Spacious modern location, full bar, self serve water, clean washroom — they check all the extra boxes that make several other tacos places even lower by comparison.

Stopped by Lola 55 to grab a bite before a concert and the tacos did not disappoint. My table shared the rainbow cauliflower, Baja fish, pork carnitas, pork belly, and squashroom tacos . They were all good, but the Baja fish and squashroom ones were the stand outs for me.

Not too busy when we stopped in for the first time. They could have phoned it in but the execution was fantastic. Squash blossom taco, fish taco, Oaxaca quesadilla and house margarita.

Service was great and friendly I ordered the Baja fish taco and the steak taco my son ordered the steak taco and chicken quesadillas. The steak taco was so good! Baja was pretty good as well. my son did not like the quesadillas. Margarita was delicious and we caught happy hour! We are out of towners and would come back to this place again!

Tasty and creative tacos. The margaritas were very good. Nothing seemed bad here. The staff were great too. Service and speed were very fast. I would definitely return.

We tried Lola for happy hour on Tuesday. Their happy hour specials consist of a margarita for $8 and a certain beer for $6, no food specials. The margarita was light but really well balanced. I ordered the fish taco, mushroom squash blossom taco, and the chips with guacamole foam. All items were good but not great and the portions were very small. The fish taco was definitely different than what I expected, I felt they were trying to hard to be unique. While liked this place, I don’t feel the need to go back and it’s not a place I’d think to recommend to friends.
