This place used to be great….. two years ago. Came back to give it a shot and unfortunately I was so overwhelmed by the smell of Clorox throughout the restaurant I decided to get my food to go only to discover the food was over cooked in the rice was so dry it felt like it was going to crack my tooth. (they also forgot my utensils)

Ordered the katsu plate with rice and macaroni salad. Good combo. The sauce was good and had a unique flavor. It’s a little pricey even for just two people ($36 without drinks) but it’s good to go there every now and then when feeling like getting a quick meal to go.

I’m a local from Hawaii and this is unacceptable. The chicken Katsu meat is so thin and when you eat it it’s like nothing but bread. I had a hard time even tearing the chicken apart! Where’s the meat in general I paid $20 for this?!

DO NOT EAT AT THIS LOCATION! The location on Mae Anne is drastically better. I actually ate at both locations two nights in a row to compare. This location was $1 more expensive for the same meal, served a portion size that was half that of the Mae Anne location (that is no exaggeration, you could feel the weight difference alone), and all three meats (I got the mix plate with Chicken, Beef and ribs) were dried out and not nearly as flavorful. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

First time trying this chain, and disappointed to the point where me and my mum laughed. Bbq ribs were so chewy, they were like gum. Fried fish tasted like nothing but salt and had a cardboard texture. The cashier was also nasty in how he handled the food and utensils. He dropped a fork on the ground and still put it in another customer’s bag, sticking his fingers in the sauce container they have in front. Supposedly other places aren’t as bad as this one, so we’ll give it another shot somewhere else

Food was good, especially the lumpia! Spam musubi was good, but we told them no sauce on some and even though they were packaged separately, they had sauce. They were still good.

This place must be doing great, because they didn’t seem to need my business. I walked in, and the girl who was at the counter had her back to me doing paperwork with who I assume was a manager. She said hi, then went back to the paperwork. The manager left and saw me as he left, but didn’t acknowledge me. I waited for the girl to finish…and I waited…and I waited…and I waited. She turned around to grab her phone, and still no more acknowledgment, or “I’ll be right with you”, nothing. I waited some more. Then I left.

Great place for Hawaiian bbq. Cashier is kind people who work here are cool. Food is going to run you about 18 bucks after taxes for a plate but there’s more than enough food for two people! I love getting the bbq mix plate comes with the best I substituted out the bbq chicken for katsu chicken. Great spot
