We had been enjoying the beach, sun and beauty of Kona but not the food.We were staying in a high tourist area and well each meal for a family of five ran into $100. Just crazy paying so much money for average tasting food. We called upon our version of chatgpt aka Google search food near me and we found L and L which was 5 minutes from the resort. The place is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The place is SMALL so if you have 5 in your party like we do, seating was difficult especially with a big belly like mine. We ordered the protein plate and chicken Katsu. Let me tell you the food was prepared quick, hot and with so much flavor. The chicken breading was awesome and not that heavy. The meat on the protein plate tasted like it had been marinated all night. The portions were big and rice was light and fluffy. The meal was like $60Ish which was cheap compared to the other meals. The food was so good we visited again after a day at the volcano. Look as a Texan in Kona, Hawaii, I tell you, go eat here. It’s better than the tourist restaurants around the resorts. The local flavor was at hand.

Got into to town late and this was one of a few places still open so decided to give it a try. The pulled pork and Lau Lau were pretty good. Tried the Spam Musubi but I would skip that if I went back. Overall still a decent meal. Enjoy.

The best value for money food you’ll find in Kona Hawaii, and possibly at their other franchise locations.

Looking for great delicious local food with big portions at an affordable price with none of the touristy Bs and this new era of mandatory tips then look no further. This is the spot to go to and get your breakfast lunch n dinner! We picked up food from here few time on our trip and every time we were super happy about it. Family owned spot and food is delicious and probably better than some of these overpriced restaurants in the city.

This little shop was fantastic! I am so glad we did not pass it up. Great breakfast. A bed of sticky rice, 2 eggs perfectly cooked, 2 slices of Spam, 3 strips of bacon, and 2 coffees and under $10! Great customer service, remembers customers that are usually there and treats them like family. It is cooked to order but faster than McD’s!

Fast food style bbq, different meats: chicken, rib, fried fish, pork. We ordered family dinner with fries, macaroni, rice, cabbage. Big portions, friendly service. There are some seatings inside the restaurant. You can also enjoy fresh air, beautiful sunset in the outside courtyard.

I found this place on google, while looking for a place to try some actual Hawaiian food on the cheap. I ordered the Kailua pork and cabbage plate and Spam musubi, my husband got the mix bbq plate, my son got a chili dog combo, and my daughter got a cheeseburger and fries (not pictured). Upon first inspection my meal seemed to have almost no pork, but after a bit of differ I found a lot under the cabbage, it was great with a bit of hot sauce. The macaroni salad was tasty, my kids loved it. My son and I both enjoyed the spam musubi, have nothing to compare it to but I would eat it again. My husband loved the mixed bbq, he said all three meats were full of flavour, and the portion was very generous. My son was a bit disappointed that the chili dog was a hotdog floating in chili, he thought it would be on a bun, but the flavour was there and he did like it. My daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger and fries, it wasn’t too dry like some burgers you find in these hole in the wall type places. I knew I would enjoy this place when I saw lots of locals coming in to eat as we pulled up, and it wasn’t just full or tourists. Thanks for a big and delicious lunch L&L Hawaiian bbq!!

Hey, so I have been in Kona for a few days now. Came from Phoenix AZ. Came here craving some authentic Hawaiian BBQ. Asked around and heard about LL . I went in with my friend and i quickly viewed the menu and saw short ribs so I was excited and prompt with my order. My buddy who wasn’t quite sure what he wanted took a while reviewing the menu. He asked the lady behind the counter a couple questions. It felt like she was bothered by having to explain what certain dishes were and what came with the combo. I got my short ribs in about 10 minutes. ALOT OF FAT. Meat quality was little bit on the low side. Great flavor . Just not a whole lot to really sink your teeth into with out pulling out huge gobs of fat. Came on a bed of cabbage with 2 scoops of white rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. The sides were tasty enough to make up for the ribs. I would probably have skipped LLs if I knew of a better BBQ spot in Kona. Which I’m positive there has to be.
