Your standard L&L Hawaiian BBQ with many drink options and good combo plates.

The meat, beef short ribs and chicken lack flavor, chicken could have been cooked longer. The macaroni salad really lacked flavor. The rice was cooked properly. Very mediocre, I’ve had much better Hawaiian BBQ.

Don’t buy food from this l&l, you’re better off making the drive to the Millbrae one. This is the amount of food they give out now.

I was walking around downtown San Mateo deciding what to eat. I was hungry but wasn’t craving anything in particular. Due to the pandemic, my options were limited. I decided to stop by here for take out. I got the aloha plate and loco moco. The food is what you would expect for an Hawaiian fast food joint. I prob wouldn’t order the loco moco again. The patty was a bit thin. Giving it 4 stars since service was great and the food was nice and hot.

Been ordering takeouts frequently but carelessness never stops. The protein tastes bitter because it’s all burnt. Please make it better.

Sometimes you just have a craving for a snack in between lunch and dinner. You don’t want it to be too heavy. In times like these, a spam musubi from L and L hits the spot! Warm rice with nice hot spray on top. Put a little bit of sricha sauce, you have a winner. L and L is a no frills place that makes generous portions of food from the Hawaiian islands. Good BBQ items. Staff is wearing masks and there is a bottle of hand sanitizer laying around.

Tried to get food at 5:45pm on a Monday and was told it was closed despite the business hour sign and neon sign saying otherwise.

I just tried to come here for my birthday and was told it was closed? At 1:30 in the pm.. Disappointed

Awesome location! I has to place a larger order for 10 staff, and they got each one right. They were also very helpful when door dash messed up my order and they canceled it. I called this location directly and they still filled it in a timely manner. They gave us exactly the amount of sauces and utensils we needed as well. Will definitely keep coming here.

Food was good as usual, but the girl did not put the sauces for the ribs in the bag. We asked for the sauce and she said it was already in the bag, but it wasn’t. Kind of ruins the whole experience eating dry ribs. They tie the bags up like they’re shipping them to a far off land and you can’t open them to check. I will next time. Don’t knot up the bag!!
