Little Sandy’s helped us wrap up a great camping weekend at Deep Creek Lake State Park. There’s nothing like a hearty breakfast served with a smile – thank you, Jamie!

This restaurant was a converted gas station, and full of locals. Many of the tables had fixed in place chairs (kind of like McDonald’s) which I find very uncomfortable, so we sat at the end of a larger table, and the hostess told us that was fine. We ordered coffee and cinnamon buns to start. The buns were warm, squishy, and dripping with icing. Our waitress checked in promptly. I did an omelet and homefries, which were separate, and toast. Hubby did a combo with bacon, eggs, and Pancakes with the home fries on the side. The potatoes were excellent, I could’ve eaten a lot more. My omelet was chock full of meat, green pepper and onion, could’ve used a bit more cheese, but very satisfying. The coffee was really good. Hubby said bacon was well cooked, loved the fries and the Pancakes were good.

The place where the locals go. This is our 3rd visit to Little Sandy’s for breakfast. The outside looks like an old gas station, but it’s the inside where the good stuff is, large helpings of homestyle cooking, bottomless cups of coffee, and they even had buckwheat cakes! We stop here for breakfast every time we are in the area.

Others have described this place well. It’s a little roadside diner, with exactly the types of food and the atmosphere you’d expect from a roadside diner. My family of 5 (2 adults, and 3 kids aged 10 to 15) went here for breakfast, and everyone loved it. Every table was taken, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. Our orders were taken quickly, and the food came out quickly, but with no feeling of being rushed. The pancakes (blueberry, chocolate chip, plain, and buckwheat) and french toast were perfect, and the bacon and sausage and home fries were super tasty. The sausage patty was the size of a hamburger and delicious. All of our meals were $10 or less. The best part was the people working here. Super nice, super helpful, super friendly. My wife had coffee with her breakfast, and as we were leaving, the waitress asked her if she wanted another cup to go, and gave it to her at no charge. I can’t remember that ever happening at any other restaurant we’ve been to. My kids all said we need to eat here again. We’ll definitely be back.

Sandy’s is a quaint little restaurant in what looks like it used to be a Sunoco. You seat yourself, and they bring you over the menus. I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits and it was delicious. I got home fries with it. The home fries aren’t what I’m used to, but they were still good. The portions aren’t huge, but the food was good, whe staff were all really nice, and you won’t sit with an empty coffee mug for long. You can tell they take pride in the place as well. It is definitely a hidden gem and I recommend visiting at least once while you’re in Oakland.

We had a short wait to be seated on a busy Sunday morning. Once we got seated, service was very quick. Waitress checked on us every time she passed our table. The breakfast was delicious at good prices.

Food was good. Service was great even while it was really busy! Coffee kept coming and I loved that! It could use a mini face lift but overall it is charming. Everyone was so nice and helpful too. Will go again next time we’re in town.

We love this place, it’s like the diner your parents took you to for weekend breakfasts as a kid. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, the service is fast, and the food is solid.

Homie roadside diner with delicious all day food items and wonderfully friendly staff. I had one of the best breakfast I’ve had in my life and felt very good about it. Pricing was reasonable and you’ve got a nice view. Everyone who rides to 19 or visits deep Creek should come by and have a good meal!
