Absolutely loved this hidden gem! Phenomenal food. Authentic Southern favorites and spicy, fruity twists. I had the chicken and pork combo with potato salad, peach beans, cole slaw, cornbread – and spouse’s pickle. The smoked meat is excellent and don’t skip trying the blueberry chipotle sauce, plum whiskey sauce, and all the other house sauces. (Blueberry was my surprise fav.) Decor is mom & pop cracker barrel meets deep south diner – charming and clean! Also loved the complimentary finely-diced salsa and chips at the beginning. Yum!

Friendly staff & the best pulled pork sandwich I have eaten in the state of Illinois over a10 year period. I plan to try other items but I always get the pulled pork. Other people have told me that their food was also really good. The atmosphere is like dropping into Petticoat Junction and finding a place to eat. If I am nearby I will plan to eat here. I just don’t think you can go wrong with this place. I highly recommend it.

Loved this place. Hubby had pulled pork, and I had brisket. Excellent! Good coleslaw and brisket beans. Tried all of their barbecue sauces. Our favorite was the plum whiskey. Purchased a bottle to take home. Would definitely eat there again.

This place is amazing. We found them at the lakemoor food truck spot, and were told by other customers to check out their location. We were not disappointed. Between the super nice and friendly people working, to the amazing food, this place has a newly found place in my heart and my stomach. I can’t wait to eventually try everything on the menu.

Chicken and pulled pork are super delicious, and the sauce flavors range from standard to adventurous (definitely try the Plum Whiskey and Blueberry Chipotle sauces). Can’t believe I haven’t tried this place earlier. Super legit barbecuing going on here.

I like this place. A little pricey for the brisket but well worth it. A lot of spicy items so beware if spicy is not your favorite. I’m sure they have other options, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

My partner and I had a Groupon for this neat little spot in town. We decided to give them a try irregardless of all the controversy. We were greeted by one of the employees, and shown the menu. They explained the sauces they had, and got our order to our table promptly. I had the pulled pork basket and my partner had the bbq chicken basket, plus peach baked beans and mac and cheese.

Glad we found something new to eat in Wauconda. The food was homemade, fresh and tasty. Great prices compared to some of the other restaurants in town. I had a smoked Italian beef and the zesty pasta. I loved all of it and already planning what I want to try next on their menu. It had a cute country shop inside and was neat and tidy everywhere.
