Mom loves eating here. Food never disappoints, portions are huge, and always delivered promptly and piping hot. We usually go at lunch and I think have had every lunch special on menu. Stellar food!! Mom uses a walker and there is no graduated curb for rolling so we need to navigate the little ‘curb’. Just wanted to put that out there.

Quality of takeout food was EXCELLENT.I had the beef&rice lunch special with a watermelon smoothie. The portion of beef was very large, delicious, and tender. The gravy was delicious. They allowed me to substitute jasmine rice for the pork fried rice that was supposed to come with it. The eggroll (included in the lunch special) was better than most Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. My watermelon smoothie was better than cutting into a watermelon, sticking your hand in it and just taking big chunks and stuffing them in your mouth and letting all the juices drip down on your hands, face and clothes without dealing with the seeds. My husband got the Chicken Chow Mein lunch special and there wasn’t a bite left when he finished. He inhaled his eggroll. Lily Garden has delicious food, the prices are very good for what you get and the service is always spot on. The manager/owner (who always answers the phone) is extremely polite. She may be a bit difficult to understand at first, but she is happy to repeat things and explain anything you ask her. She is also very, very accommodating. I cannot give a higher recommendation to this restaurant. WE LOVE IT!!!

We had egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and chow fun. The shrimp in the chow fun wasn’t completely deveined but that probably was not done in house. The bigger issue with that dish was the shrimp were rubbery from being overcook and mealy in the center where they curled. Egg rolls were huge and ok. They had shrimp in them which isn’t for everyone but I like it. Sweet and sour sauce was overpowered by cucumber. There was a lot of chicken in the sweet and sour chicken but a lot less rice than most other places. I may be a bit picky about Chinese food, but I won’t be returning.

My first experience and maybe last : I went there to eat with my kids, the food was good but the waiter added $10 to my bill saying it’s tip. My bill was supposed to be 63.74, she debited me 73.64, when I asked her she said is tip. I was surprised because who takes out peoples money or add to it without their consent.

The food is great here, by far the best in any of the surrounding towns. The inside is old and run down a bit but not horrible. Service is never great here. They are friendly but not very accurate with your order. So if your order pick up, check your order and then enjoy the best food.

I ordered this on Uber Eats. I got the vegetable and tofu chow mein, but it was missing the noodle part so I only got tofu and vegetables. I also got vegetable fried rice and the vegetable egg rolls, the former is just totally bland and not worth purchasing at all. The egg rolls I honestly just threw away, I couldn’t eat them. I have no idea what spice they used inside but it was just overpowering and not good at all. I had to drown everything in the sauces provided as well as my own hot chili oil in order to eat any of this food.

Lily Garden has been a long time favorite. I travel from an hour away to eat there. So, I was very disappointed to read all of the recent bad reviews since the new owners took over. On this trip I just decided to carry out an appetizer platter to try it. I will say, it is an incredible value. For under $10 you get two egg rolls, barbecue pork, crab rangoon, and fried shrimp. The egg rolls were extremely delicious but not quite as good as the original recipe which tasted more like Chicago style peanut butter egg rolls. The fried shrimp and crab rangoon were as expected. Typical Cantonese fair. The barbecue pork, was extremely tender and delicious, but I didn’t finish eating it because although it didn’t taste rotten, it did taste a little bit old. That was some of the main comments in the bad reviews. I was there on a beautiful Thursday at 12:30 and only three cars. It’s very hard for a restaurant to keep the food fresh when they don’t have a lot of business. I hope somehow they will be able to figure out how to turn it around.

We had high hopes, but will never return. The egg rolls were below average (tasted “old” somehow). The Chicken Tai San Pan Chow Fun (something they are supposed to be known for), was not good at all. The only vegetables were green peppers and onions. The chicken – tasted old and was very dry. The noodles had a slightly sweet taste and were just OK. The sauce – very bland.

We love Lily Garden! We moved to AL and nothing here can stand up to Lily Garden! Wish we had your recipe for fried rice – AL is a long drive. But, hoping to visit you again this fall.
