Our best meal in Hawaii has been at Liko Lehua Cafe! We had one of the specials of the day (Jalapeño Pork Sandwich) — it was so good and a great way to end a magical day hiking near Hilo.

Agreed with others, probably our best meal on the whole trip. It was nestled in a neighborhood and close to the waterfalls. We took our meal up in the mountains and ate. The flavor was awesome and we wish we would have ordered more crabcakes

This is a great spot to get a different menu. I wanted their special but it was sold out so ordered a burger with fries it was a tasty homemade burger for little over 15 bucks. Anyways, if you want a different taste it’s ok just pricy. Until next time looking for choke ono grinds for da buck ahui hou!!

We stopped by for lunch on our way to Volcano National Park. It was a great meal and no line. While we waited they gave us little donuts and noticed that they take care of their community members. The crab cake sandwich was good and the fish and chips were great.

I’m very surprised to see reviews mentioning “atmosphere”. There’s one table at the side of the road, no service (order and pickup at the window). It’s basically a drive through, only less convenient. I ordered a “boneless wings sampler” and it was pretty underwhelming. Felt like more skin than meat and the two flavors were pretty much identical – very umami, but not much else. Would not recommend.

We are tourists who drove in from Kona. From the time we arrived until we left we encountered smiles, honest recommendations and amazing customer service. We ordered the Balsamic Cheesy Bread, Chicken Risotto, and Garlic Chicken (Shrimp) Pasta. Our waitress actually suggested the last with the subsitution when we told her we were a no for seafood and loved cheese and garlic. All of the food was great and the servings were huge! We noticed a lot of people coming in who knew the workers or the other guests. Liko Lenhua is a great local restaurant with a sense of pride and treating everyone as family.

We mainly went because it was close by our hotel & prices were reasonable ($15-$26 for entrees). The ahi rice bowl special was excellent! My mom loved her coconut shrimp. 2nd best meal I’ve had so far (#1 is Da Kitchen on Maui). Noms!

This is a family owned and operated restaurant. Order at the window and take the food home or eat outside at the bench seating.

Very good food and staff, would definately recommend. Had catch of the day with a summer salad and it was perfect. Crab cakes were delicious also.
