We went here with some friends and the food was great specially in comparison to its price. We had beef Banh Mi which was very delicious. It was soft inside and crispy in outside. Dumplings were also very crispy and the sauce was so tasty. In addition, they provided 3 different sauces at each table which was perfect and I love them all. The fried rice with chicken was also very tasty. We also had boba there which was very delicious and I truly enjoyed drinking it. The atmosphere was so sweet. It’s a cozy restaurant and the green elements in the roof and its combination with wood decorations make it very special and calming. Also they have good taste in musics they choose to play. We had a great time here.

Ordered the beef stew and the grilled pork plate. Probably healthiest beef stew I’ve had. It taste like Pho broth with beef flavor. It’s thinner than I’ve usually had it but it’s still tasty. I think I like their Pho better. The grilled pork was a little sweet. Not bad overall.

Got the vermicelli bowl, chicken fried rice, chicken banh mi, and beignets. The noodle bowl was good, and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. However, the chicken in the fried rice was dry and lacked flavor. The banh mi and the beignets were good. The person taking our order messed up a lot of things in it even after we repeated it back multiple times. Apart from the service, the dishes came out relatively quickly

After dropping items off at the cleaners I noticed the restaurant in the far right corner. Lien’s…OK. I ventured in and noticed an officer seated on the left enjoying a bowl of Pho. Decent sized bowl and it looked good. Unfortunately I was to go elsewhere so I continued towards the counter and was promptly greeted. She informed me Lien’s has been open since April of this year (2022). It’s nice to have a Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood; Hoang’s Sandwich on Elgin near Scott Street was forced out due to condos/high rises being built near the Metro rail and UH. Chinese Star on Calhoun suffered a similar fate; UH wanted space for their ‘projects’ and made them close. Irony is nothing was built for a couple of years until recently (they could have remained opened a little longer). Nearby franchises survived in the same location, but ‘Mom and Pop’ business are forced to close (so much for being for the ‘little guy’). Back to the current restaurant: Lien’s…

Got the shrimp and pork spring rolls, beef banh mi and a taro milk tea- all were excellent. The spring rolls were large compared to some other restaurants in the area. The beef in the banh mi was tender and flavorful, the carrots and cucumber tasted fresh and the bread was toasted well but not too crunchy. The boba in the milk tea was chewy but with enough bite that it didn’t just fall apart. Overall a great early lunch experience.

Lovely small family run Vietnamese restaurant. The bowls are excellent, super fresh, tasty and filling. They also do Banh Mi and Pho. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the neighbourhood. Staff and owners are very friendly and will do anything to help you enjoy your meal. The Vietnamese coffee is excellent too!

Regular pho, just like every other pho place. It doesn’t have beef tripe and tendon in combo, but I’m okay with it.
