I’ve read through the previous complaints regarding service, which I found baffling. I found the service to be very good and accommodating.

We enjoyed the experience in Legend72. The dishes were quite good (7/10). We could conversate perfectly as it was silent and quiet (no music). One may miss that living in a noisy city like NYC.

This is one of the best restaurants I go to. I can have legend 72 everyday. It’s better than almost all of Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. I think it’s better than Che Li. If you like Mala, try Chendu fish fillet and mapo Tofu. If you like basic, simple lunch special, try Chao Fun, kung pao chicken or sesame chicken.

The crispy whole fish with Pine Nuts and sweet and sour sauce taste so good. And I love the Dry Spicy Diced Chicken. Definitely recommend to everyone

A lot of these low star reviews are from patrons who I assume are less familiar with authentic Chinese cuisine. Excellent service, delicious food, and clean storefront. The trifecta. Very fair prices for the portions, too!

This restaurant has something for everyone. Authentic old school and new Sichuan dishes plus American favorites. I’ve ordered many times and the food is always great and arrives hot. On my last delivery order they gave me a wrong item and sent out a replacement immediately.

Outstanding meal for my family of five yesterday. After a busy day of sightseeing we needed a refuel and I was in the mood for this type of cuisine. Google maps led me to the nearest restaurant.

The worst service EVER!!!!!!!!!!!I am a fashion model and just finished watching a jazz concert in Jazz At Lincoln Center. I would like to try a new Chinese restaurant wile I was in a good mood. So I called this restaurant since it’s nearby and would like to order online because it’s close to closing time. I was very new to the dry pot order and the female staff humiliated me and projected me like’ why are you so troublesome’? with her unique and aggressive loud tone. What’s the most rude behavior was that she even yelled me ‘ big sister’ in a humiliating way and I felt more than offended. I refused to continue ordering under such unfair and rude treatment. This is my first time even I haven’t got a chance to try the food here, but I will never come here because the staff here even don’t welcome new guests and will make you more than just uncomfortable, and show out a bad attitude!!!!!!

I’ve been a fan of Legend 72 and the Chelsea branch since they opened. No more. Service and food at 72 is now mediocre at best. SERVICE: I reserved a round table in person 4 days before a dinner for out-of-town guests. Upon arrival we were rudely told that others had reserved them. So we had to sit in the cramped front section. For the whole time we were there a round table was empty in the back. Abysmal service. FOOD: Pea shoot casserole with minced scallops and egg was delicious. The shoots were lightly cooked and still had texture. It was downhill from there. Soup dumplings were obviously pre-frozen and arrived at room temperature. Beef short rib on a sizzling plate was at room temperature (plate was cold – no sizzling) with gloppy Chinese carry-out brown sauce. Shameful. Lemon squid was tasteless and rubbery. Peking duck was both greasy and dry. Pan-fried noodles with seafood (liang Mian Huang) featured soggy (not crisp) noodles, tired seafood, and light brown gloppy sauce. Dry fried green beans had NO taste of Sichuan pickled vegetable (an essential for this dish) or Sichuan pepper. Likewise their previously delicious kung pao chicken came with yet another gloppy sauce and had zero ‘mala’ flavor. The food alone would probably rate 2 stars, but with awful service, it rated one star. Sadly I must now recommend avoiding this place.
