Nice restaurant that has lots of potential. While the food was good and the presentation really good, the portions were very small, making the value for money quite poor, I have had bigger portions in Michelin restaurants.

Le Rouge offers a charming (and surprisingly social) atmosphere. The cocktails are top notch, made with excellent ingredients and not watered down. The staff are always pleasant and prompt. If you’re looking for a relaxed, romantic night out, then Le Rouge is where you need to be.

TLDR: Expensive, LOUD, Horrible Service, Terrible Food (COVERED in pepper!). They want to be upscale and sure charge you like an upscale place, but this is merely a step above a corner bar.

French restaurant nestled in Grand Junctions downtown scene. Outdoor patio, large cocktail and wine selections. Service is friendly and owner makes their way around too. Bummer is food is mediocre at best. Not a bad stop for a drink and outdoor service.

My wife and I had an excellent meal here September 25, 2022. I had the duck breast and my wife had the crab cakes as a main course. We had their salad first and their creme brulee for desert. The staff was friendly. They have a good wine list. We dined outside on their covered patio on Main Street. Very nice. Indoors looked nice too, Grand Junction is a fun town. Take a river trip, fish, hike, bike along the bike trails, horseback ride,, and on and on. Drive to Glenwood Springs, Aspen, and Moab. Don’t miss Colorado National Monument. It is like Arches and Zion Parks with fewer crowds.

Yes, they are expensive, but the food is really good. Great soup and perfect steak. The service is pretty good. We told them we had a concert to get to and they were very good about getting everything out to us in a speedy manner. Until the end, when they brought us the check and then never came to get the credit card, so we paid at the bar. I could see the service there being a problem if you aren’t proactive with it. We’ll go again for that steak though. If they are slow, politely just say something to them. Hopefully they will be more attentive.

The final stop on our Main Street restaurant culinary tour was not worth the price tag by a long shot. While the service was fine and the atmosphere nice, our cocktails were mediocre (especially the strawberry balsamic one, which tasted like a daiquiri, honestly), the crab cakes were small and nothing particularly special (the sauce on top tasted like the sauce on top of the flounder, which was the fish special that day), caprese salad tasted like what I could make at home for a fraction of the cost, the best part of my steak and fries were actually the fries (no joke!). I felt like I chewed that steak a LOT even though I like it pretty pink. By the end of the meal, I was dreading the bill and declined dessert (at this point, I didn’t have high hopes for the tiramisu). The bottom of the menu contains something to the effect of: “If you’ve eat % of your food, we cannot refund your money” which is odd, truthfully. I really, really wanted to like this place. But I just didn’t. Fortunately, I had great company so the evening wasn’t a total loss.

Food was good, when it finally showed up 2 hours after we arrived. The service was poor and the kitchen apparently overwhelmed. We arrived a little early and were one of the first parties to be seated in the dining room. Nevertheless it took over thirty minutes just to give our drink order and went downhill from there. Our food order wasn’t taken for over an hour and other tables were being served their entrees despite us being seated first. And we kept odd comments from the waitress such as when asked for the sauce on the side of a dish “no substitutions” and that our party of six was “too big for the kitchen to handle” and the the manager had walked of the job due to an emergency. The entire dining room and bar area was being served by one waitress and one busboy. Despite all that, the food was actually quite good. The table next to us walked out before their entrees we served and one of our party who doesn’t eat meat was served short ribs instead of the fish she ordered. She went home without dinner. It was a kitchen/service mess. Due to to delay they said they were giving us a 20% discount which was by removing the mandatory tip for parties of six or more. Of course we tipped anyway. I only gave it a second star because the food was good.

The menu *sounded* great. We ordered the charcuterie plate and crab cakes. The quality of what arrived for the charcuterie plate was a joke. No French bread, crackers from a box that more suited to a children’s lunch than a “modern French restaurant”. And the meat was also very low quality and looked and tasted like it was grocery store brand deli counter meat. The cheses were also of low quality and a step above american cheese. The crab cakes were sour and lacked depth of flavor. Will not be back.

Everything was excellent! So glad we stopped in. The service was superb, ambience is amazing, lighting, decorations, table settings all very nice. I ordered a really great cocktail. I don’t remember the name of it but it had grapefruit vodka and st. germaine in it and it was mixed perfectly. I ordered the sea scallops and everything on my plate was delicious. The wild rice and ratatouille were yummy and the scallops were like butter and cooked to perfection. Prices were great for the experience. I highly recommend Le Rouge.
