Having never tried African cuisine from any country or region before, I was very excited for my recent dining experience at Le Bambou. I ordered the jollof rice and the stewed goat.

The restaurant is nice itself. It didn’t take long to get my food at all. I ordered for take out. The young girl was nice but I felt they could work on other workers or if it was the owner to greet their customers when they come in instead of staring at them and interrupting the server when they are helping a customer I thought that was rude. They didn’t seem like they wanted to be there bc they didn’t have no smiles they looked actually mad/not happy. It was my first time and when I asked for suggestions what to get or what was popular she couldn’t tell me one thing. She didn’t even respond. That’s not good at all. The prices were a bit high and items didn’t seem to come with sides. Ex. I asked about chicken and it was just the chicken like no rice or rice and veggies come with it but you want me to pay that price. I was a little frustrated so I just got the fufu which the one I chose they said had a sweeter taste ummm that’s a lie and I bought the egosi soup (probably spelled it wrong). I didn’t like that it was oily couldn’t make out the taste or what it was and very spicy. The fufu texture and paste like was sticky which made me choke and gag when I ate it. I didn’t like what I ordered and ended up throwing it away. I paid around $16. It wasn’t worth it. But I do want to try another food item.

I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant since I got to South Carolina! I ordered pick up. The food was hot and fresh and ready to go when I got there. I ordered the tomato soup with oxtails in it. And the casava fufu. The soup was good. A lot of good flavors. The oxtail was okay, kind of rough, but good. I wouldn’t order it again, not for the price. I’ve never had casava fufu and wanted try it. The flavor or smell is not for me. It was awesome texture though, just right! I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for African cuisine! But it is very pricy with small portions .I look forward to trying other menu items.

This was my first time eating African food and now I’m addicted!! The food is so delicious. Went for brunch with a friend then had to take my husband back for dinner. LeBambou is a must try!! Customer service was excellent. Our waiter explained everything to us and was helpful in making choices. Check them out

A gem stone in Columbia near Sand Hill Mall. The Red Snapper is a must try. The sauteed vegetables have a little kick, but does not overpower that great flavor. A great family restaurant. Great service! Nice environment.

It you want to taste the flavors of True West African food, Le Bamboo is the place to go. We ordered several of the menu items and nothing was disappointing see pics. We were welcomed with love and open arms as soon as we entered the building. I cannot speak enough about the quality of the products and the knowledge of the owners and their staff. With great fresh portions and authentic flavors, the food told a story and took you on a journey. With every bite your senses were taken to a place of comfort and joy. I forgot to take pics of the drinks we ordered but the homemade Hisbiscous Lemonade-Pineapple and Ginger & Pineapple we’re refreshing, natural, and tasty. The portion and prices were very reasonable I would highly recommend.
