Location is fantastic, waterside tables are great, and it’s a pretty relaxed environment. Prices for the portions are unfathomable – got a half and half platter (haddock and whole bellies) for $39. Received a 3″ square piece of haddock (which was fairly good) and 7 fried whole belly clams that were overbreaded and poorly cleaned. Drink pours are very light for the price, food was served on paper plates, and service was passable at best. Far better seafood restaurants in town/in the region.

There’s a reason you can get right in when everywhere else is an hour wait. Just go somewhere else.

It was $100 (tip included) to feed my husband, our 3 yr old and myself. The clam chowder was watery and bland. The caprese salad was a decent size but the tomato wasn’t ripe. It was so hard I didn’t finish eating it. The Ruben, that was a special, was dry. Fish and chips haddock (it was the more expensive “platter” because they don’t do “baskets” after 4pm) had well cooked, fresh fish but it was unseasoned. The batter was a weird texture so we pulled it off. The tartar sauce was gross and the coleslaw was so sweet it was inedible. My kid kept spitting out the chicken tenders, but he’s a toddler so I can’t be sure exactly what that was about. They don’t have milk either, so my toddler got a water which is fine but an additional non-soda option would be appreciated for an evening meal. I will say the fries were decent. So basically we paid $100 bucks for 3 servings of fries. The waitress was great, so if she’s reading this, it’s not you! You’re doing a good job! We just won’t go back. Hopefully it was just an off day.

There were 2 of us. One paid with cash and I paid with my credit card. He decided to put both bills on my card!!! What did he do with the cash? It was on 8/29/2023 @ 5:00pm We are locals and certainly will never return. Disgraceful!!!! Update 9/2/2023 Spoke with management. They were polite, professional and apologetic. Took care of things. I am very thankful.

We had the margarita special which wasn’t very good and tasted watered down, and I got the chicken bowl which looked like canned corns and canned beans and the guacamole tasted pre made. I could have made a better one at home. The waitress was nice enough but this wasn’t a great experience other than the view of the ocean.

If you come to Portsmouth, you definitely need to check this place out. We had lunch here and it was a blast. We were having some of the best drinks right on the watch. The food was so good. We had the best beef empanadas that I have ever had. They were made that morning.

Ahhhhhh…..summer = Lazy Jack’s. Casual, outdoor sea breezes by the Piscatiqua, great drinks (although those who enjoy salt on their margarita need to keep in mind that regular drinks come in plastic cups and therefore salt doesn’t really stick!), and fantastic apps and food. This time, we had a couple of apps: onion rings were skinny crispy and fantastic, huge portion. Bang bang shrimp is always a hit. And hubby ordered a “Lazy Dilla” (quesadilla), with lobster and cheese (He says he probably would have added some sort of sauce or salsa on that to give it some zing, but people who love lobster would probably really enjoy it as is). The service is amazing and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is fun and festive and beautiful by the water! Highly recommend for a casual time in Portsmouth. But come early! Tables fill up fast.

Cool spot! Great views. Great drinks. Fish tacos were awesome. And best French fries I’ve had in a long time, super crunchy. We split the dinner as an appetizer because it was in between lunch and dinner. You get 2 tacos and fries. 2 drinks and taco dinner $46 including tip.

Seat yourself & then wait a while to be greeted. Several waitstaff walked by without even acknowledging we were there. Limited menu. Lobster roll was decent and being on the river was nice but that’s about it.
