Disappointing and disappointed. It’s been over a year since I visited where this was such a gem and often long lines during the lunch rush in downtown Camden. Certainly prices are a little more (too be expected nowadays) but quality has slipped. Pork was overly dry and overcooked which I suspect had more to do with repurposing (leftover) versus freshly made same day. On a more positive note, place has been renovated since my last visit most likely due to pandemic and the black beans are still pretty good.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Latin American Restaurant in Camden, New Jersey. The atmosphere was great; the staff was friendly, and the food was amazing. The Yellow Rice and Beans with Pernil (Roast Pork) was my favorite dish. The flavors were bold and the dish was cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous and the price was reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good Latin American meal.

Had to give them their well deserved 5star if not for their food but more so for their service and kindness. I was there recently with my grandma who’s now in a wheel chair because of her balance issues. Well! These ladies who run the place did not hesitate to come all the way outside to assist me in getting her inside despite not having a ramp. Patiently they helped her up the 2 steps while I handled her chair…..btw their food was fresh and pretty good. Thank you ladies!

Usually the food is pretty good. Recently it has been worse. It takes too long to get food and they only have large sizes. The last time was a complete waste of money. I got two pork tacos. One the pork was almost all fat the other had a large bone in the taco.
