I been to this restaurant a few times with my family for dinner and to have a few drinks but this last time the service charge they added was outrageous! A table of 4 and paid a bill of over $310 when the amount was 235 the because of the service charge went up to $310 that to me was just outrageous.. then on top of that you have to leave a tip… Come-on Las Palmas you need to do better than that..

The staff was nice but it took 2 waitresses to help because the assigned person didn’t speak English. Neither of the 2 knew what specials they had even though the special were playing on the TV’s throughout the restaurant! My husband and I read the reviews before arriving so I knew exactly what I wanted. The Red Snapper $28 with sweet plantains. After 2 attempts to order a margarita from the non English speaking waitress I finally got it…it had taste like I was drinking sugary water no tequila of any kind! Yo make matters worse the Red Snapper came out and I can smell it’s fishy old burnt grease smell coming out! The worst part was it was cooked very hard, I could only assume they were trying to cover up how old the fish was! Nothing fresh about it to into the grease it was in! Yes I took pictures! I couldn’t believe they served it! The waitress knew when I called her to the table what the problem was; I pointed out the foul odor of the fish and the texture along with the color! The fish just wasn’t fresh and poorly cooked! This place maybe simply good for a bar because the food doesn’t represent good quality. But again they have a live DJ and alcohol with nice and clean.

Orlando, FL. It was a sancocho kind of day. The gray skies, the bit of chill, and my tiredness made me stop here for a bowl of sancocho. Sancocho, with its rich stock; chunks of beef and chicken; hunks of yucca, potato and green plantain; a bit of mellow garlic; and a garnish of cilantro—-all comforted me like a mama’s hug. (Specifically this soup reminds me of Nildred, my Colombian coworker who’d buy sancocho when she felt under the weather and she’d eat it in the lunchroom.) This came with a plate of white rice, a cute little deep fried arepa, and a salad with homemade dressing redolent of olive oil and herbs. Everything was so good.

1st time here and would love to come back! They have a large patio with plenty of tables and designated servers – the music is quite loud but with a good vibe, so great if wanting a party atmosphere. The inside seating is more suited for families and those that don’t want their ears blasted (that would be me lol). Servers were ok, little sparse on attention but not really bad. The food was delicious. Ordered the bean casserole with steak, and the beans were warm not hot, but very tasty. Also had the house plate for $20 – the sausage was really good, the pork part (don’t know its name) was very fatty like belly pops, but super tasty. For appetizer we share the trio de camerones – superb loved it! Cocktails were expensive though, no bar menu so ordered a couple of margaritas to find out they were $18/19 each – ouch. Won’t do that again.

Excellent service and fantastic food selections! Our waiter Frankie did a great job and was super friendly. He even recommended great places to visit nearby while on our vacation here in Orlando. We definitely will be returning customers here at Las Palmas.

The food is good even though the fish is put through wheat flour, z the attention is TERRIBLE AND MEDIOCRE. less casting and more service.
