Larry’s is my very favorite sandwich shop! It’s too bad the closest one to me is over an hour away! Had a chance to stop in here and get my favorite sandwich, a hot ham and cheese with mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and a little spicy mustard. I didn’t need the 12 inch, but I got the 12 inch because I love it so much.

Larry’s Giant Subs in Athens was awesome! The staff was friendly and efficient. They were cranking out sandwiches fast. The store is much larger than you think if you want to sit down to enjoy your food. They have a pretty expansive menu too! We got veggie subs that fit our plant-based diet.

The food was okay, but I really did not appreciate the discrimination against me and my service dog. They would not allow us to sit inside to eat under any circumstance. Even after explaining that she is a service dog and has a task to perform, we were still not permitted to be in the building except for ordering food. This is just shameful, especially for Athens.

Consistently great food and service! This location seems not to suffer from staffing issues as so many other places do. In my experience there have always been plenty people behind the counter and in the back to make sandwiches. Even during busy Sunday lunchtime have I gotten my order in a reasonable time. They’re very efficient here. Sure their prices have gone up, but I am think that is simply to adjust to rising food costs and so they can pay their employees appropriately.

Do not forget about this little gem. Larry’s has been here while other restaurants come and go. There is a reason for this. The food is fresh and the service is friendly and efficient. I like the 70s vibe. The location is nice because it is close to convenient shopping but it is easy in and out.
