My family and I were at Revere beach and decided to get some BBQ. Despite not calling first we were able to place an order and wait outside for the food. We purchased a jumbo rib, brisket platter with Mac and cheese & yams, chicken bites (Mac and cheese and fries on the side) and pulled chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings. We really wanted to like the food but it just didn’t hit the way we expected it to. The tastiest thing we got was the chicken bites and the pulled chicken sandwich.

Brisket is so good! Also, the smoked and fried wings! I got delivery and the whole order was delicious. Really like that they put the wing sauce on the side for a delivery order. Wings were still crispy and the extra sauce was great for dunking – important when the buffalo sauce is that good!

We have tried a few different BBQ places and this has to be some of the best we have ever had. You won’t be disappointed eating here. We had the pulled pork and brisket with mac cheese and beans. The meat was tender and seasoned just right, not spicy or oversauced. It didn’t need any extras. The portions were great. Definitely will back. It’s a must try.

Ordered today via doordash. We had the brisket with NC sauce, collards, mac, and buffalo wings. Smoked and Fried Wings were uninspired, same with the mac. My wife said “I think Velveeta Shells and Cheese is better.” The smoke on the brisket seemed poorly integrated as if it weren’t actually smoked. Perhaps brisket was baked with liquid smoke or something? Cuts were thick, which was appreciated. Collard greens were the best part of the order. We’re unlikely to order again.

I knew this place would be great when I first happened by it in the summer and looked at the menu. I didn’t have time that day, but I tried tonight and it exceeded all expectations. I feel like I visited friends or family. The proprietors and customers alike were personable and a lot of fun. The food home-cooked and spot on–filling and perfect in every way. I will use grub hub on occasion for future reliable southern/ soul fare, but enjoying that food in this cozy friendly setting satisfies on every. Thank you Larry, Sheila…and customers Rico, Tom and various others–funny good people. Looking forward to going again and meeting others–maybe you. Treat yourself and feel at home. Larry J’s BBQ is a must have! I’ve been craving good barbecue since I moved to the north shore, and now I’ve finally found it! I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was incredible. The meat was so tender, the bun soft, and the sauce was to die for. I can’t wait to order from here again!

First time getting take out from Larry J’s, won’t be the last. Got the three meat combo sausage, bologna and burnt ends with BBQ spaghetti and Texas caviar.. Fantastic!!!! The gentleman who took my order was very nice so was the woman who gave me the order..

My girlfriend and I ordered take out tonight. The food tasted stale. The cornbread was rock hard, the wings were dry and shriveled. The ribs tasted like they were from frozen. It was overall a bad experience.

Absolutely love this place. Larry is one of the coolest guys I ever met. My first time there he offered me and my nana free fried pickles I never had these in my life. So I was a little nervous to try them out but omg what a taste so good. The ribs fall right off the bone. It’s a small place but it does get very crowded. The food is so good. Better then Redbones Texas roadhouse nothing compared to his ribs. I tell everyone about this place. There is parking on the side of the restuarant he does except cards or cash. Worth the trip from cambridge
