I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for somewhere open past 9 PM. I’m glad I did as the La Tolteca Fajitas for two were delicious. I wish the order came with more tortillas because the portion sizes were huge. The complimentary chips and salsa was a plus. The vibe was kind of dull and the bright white lights are not aesthetically pleasing. The waiter and cashier were friendly. One thing to keep in mind is that they have a 3% surcharge for credit card transactions.

Very authentic food. The carne asada has the best flavor and you get plenty per taco. Friendly and fast service. Very attentive. Clean and laid back atmosphere with very bright colors. Overall, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in Columbia.

Food was over cooked. Order was incorrect. Table are to low for anyone tall. Refill are 75 cents extra. The staff does not speak good English. She did not understand what I was asking. Order 4 soft taco got two hard. Ordered roll tacos this is what I got see the picture burnt. It was so dark inside we could see the Menu. Ask ask them to turn on lights.

Wow! Fantastic authentic food, delightful decor with nice touches at an affordable price!!! Our waitress was available when we needed something but not obtrusive. I cant believe this place isn’t PACKED…every night. It should be. Come here to eat you will be glad you did!!

Great service. The foods were flavorful. Beef was cooked well in my carne asada. I asked for extra pico and hot sauce and was given them without additional charge. The initial wait was a little long, but food was delivered pretty quickly. Not the best Mexican food in town but one of the best services received in recent years.

This restaurant is the absolute worst!! The service, food, prices, and drink were trash. Do not go for Happy Hour. There is nothing happy about it. The margaritas taste like yellow Wyler’s drink mix, and the tequila was a poor excuse for tequila. We spent $104 for two people and didn’t even drink the margaritas after we paid for extra shots, and it was still gross. The staff didn’t speak English and was addititudenal. No one seemed bothered by the fact that we expressed utter discontent and dissatisfaction with the entire experience. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here.

Poor service, and mediocre food will disuade me from giving this restaurant a second chance. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, but if I wanted anything, I had to stop the waitress and ask. She never offered me a refill on my salsa, and I have up trying to find her for a refill on my drink. After delivering my food she never came back to check up on me, not even to bring the check! I eventually got up and walked to the register. The food was expensive for the portion size. A meal and drink was over $18.00. The Chile Colorado was so bland, that of it weren’t for the chips, salsa, and coke, I would have been inclined to take a COVID test. Normally it is a spicy dish, but La Tolteca United Statesed it, and took all the heat out. It’s in a high traffic area, so I’m sure they’ll survive, but the food and service explain why the place was almost empty. With so many great Mexican options in Columbia, they’re going to have to adapt and be willing to make some changes if they want to stick around.

This place is a true gem!! Everything was absolutely delicious from the salsa to our entrees. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The pollo Azteca was absolutely delicious and some of the best grilled chicken I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend this place, my new favorite Mexican place in Columbia!
