Great tacos, good tostadas. They keep it simple and classic. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is average for a taco shop. Will try again and consider an upgrade but best tacos I’ve had in Billings thus far. Looking forward to trying their chorizo.

My favorite authentic Mexican spot in Billings. Be warned it is EXPENSIVE for food truck style Mexican food. $19.5 for 1 person. 2 tacos and 1 3 inch quesadilla, with bottle soda. $4 to $5 a small street taco, $7 for a small tinga quesadilla (3 1/2 inches). Carne Asada was my least favorite, not much flavor. The pork venono was incredible and the chipotle tinga was delicious. Both were pretty spicy. However the flavor is incredible, the people are amazing; so welcoming. If they could get there pricing down or portion size up (a $1 on the tacos and $2 on quesadilla) they definitely could last. The spot was packed but everyone was commenting on how small it was. The look of disappointment was pretty apparent. I don’t think they’ll get repeat customers due to cost. It would take $25 to get full here.

Amongst the many offerings in Billings is a small and simple restaurant, which proudly serves fantastic, authentic Mexican cuisine. La Tinga is all this and more. As a quaint, family-owned business, you are guaranteed to enjoy great food in a lively and welcoming atmosphere. With all the traditional choices and a diversity of daily specials like fish tacos, barbacoa, and so much more, you can trust this haven to satisfy your hunger, thirst, and community spirit!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For the staff and wonderfully warm inviting atmosphere!! I fell in love with the charming casa style feel in downtown Billings. What used to be part of the bowling alley is now a bubbling medley of charm and delight.

Oy, what an absolute gem, hidden in downtown Billings! Family-owned and operated with authentic food, served with love and a smile. It doesn’t get much better than this and you definitely won’t find a better, home-cooked Mexican meal in Montana. ¡Delicioso!

Everything about this place is wrong. Lunch counter atmosphere with little decor. There is no service. Order at the register. Get your own water to drink. Get a fork and napkin yourself. The carne asada was horrendous, there was gristle in every bite. Burnt tortilla. Bland rice that was clumping together. Soupy beans with no flavor. The kicker was the tortilla chips. Both ladies behind the counter were reaching into the container of chips and using their bare hands to put chips on plates to serve customers and into to-go containers without washing their hands or using gloves. Bus your own dirty dishes when you’re done. To top it all off $23 bucks for a small burrito, beans, rice, and a coke. If you’re going to spend that much, there are better places to eat. Nope, definitely will not be back!

Came here after seeing such positive reviews, to say the least I am very let down. Walking in was a good vibe, real authentic feel so I especially had high hopes. Let me start by saying I love tacos, it’s my favorite food. I love all kinds of tacos, white people tacos, street tacos, authentic mexican tacos. but these tacos were borderline terrible. The carne asada was essentially dried out, boiled or something, not seared, roast beef rubber texture. No flavor except like a hint of freezer burnt, and very dry. Not even diced up and seared like normal carne asada is. Instead, strips. I tried 3 kinds of tacos. Here is how I would rate them. Tinga (pork taco) Was a 3/5. Meat was decent, there was a yummy sauce on it. But the hot sauce, was unbearable. (coming from someone with a very high heat tolerance) im thinking by my enthused yes when asked if i want cilantro, onion, and hot salsa she may have taken it for extra hot salsa? Or maybe they have upped their spice level according to prior reviews saying it was bland. Regardless, the spice level was insane and I genuinely cant imagine anyone being able to handle it. The water offered was gross tasting and definitely tap, so it was hard to wash the heat down haha. Carne asada taco was 0/5. Chicken and potato was 2/5 (had some weird tomato paste flavor) All tacos were almost inedible due to the overly hot salsa that had no real flavor other than H O T. I didnt feel the flavors complimented eachother, and the carne asada was 100% not fresh. & No lime!? 🙁 I am so sad to be leaving this review as I heard nothing but good things. As someone that ventures out and tries tacos everywhere, the best we have in billings is los mayas! Head there for some carne asada tacos, you won’t be disappointed!

Heck yes. This was so, so good. Had breakfast at this unassuming place and it was awesome! What I believe was mom and daughter, making everything from scratch. Yes.

The ladies were extremely rude. I asked what was in the burrito and she said “if you’re gonna ask what’s in the food I’ll take the next person in lines order” instead of being polite and telling me. So I just ordered a quesadilla for my kids. I asked for salsa and she told me no. And the quesadillas were awful, they were burnt. And my kids wouldn’t even eat them. Waist of my money and time.
