Great spot for dinner. Pizza was tasty and I loved the straccitella appetizer. The baked rigatoni was on every table so I felt like I had to order it, but it was just fine – could have used more red sauce. We also really liked our drinks.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal earlier this evening. We dined with friends who had been there a few times before. From the cocktails to the appetizers and pizzas everything was excellent. Sophie our server was attentive and directed us to the Jersey Corn Pizza. This was a hit, the proof is in the picture. MORE PLEASE!! We will have to return.

We enjoyed our meal at La Riva so much that we returned four days later. It was by far the best meal(s) we had on the island and possibly the best pizza I’ve ever had. Our second visit the Margherita pizza could have used some more cheese but it was still great. The Stacciatella salad was also fantastic.

Warm mozzarella and salad are awesome apps. Brick oven pizza just ok. We sent back one pie tonight because the entire one side was black/ burnt. The taste of the other pie was burned flavor. Disappointed because last time we went food was good.

Not sure why this doesn’t have more stars. Probably because it is not your typical LBI restaurant. Pizza are great. Not pizzeria style, more gourmet. Great house salad. Rigatoni was very good. Was a little surprised that the salad came out last, but all good. Well worth the drive to the other end of the island.

I’ll let the pictures show why the low rating. The parts on my wife’s pizza that weren’t burned were good, other half was black burned on bottom and raw dough inside. I sent mine back and had it taken off the bill. How do you serve that thing? If they figure out how to run the oven, this place could be good. I’ll give them a shot next year after they get some experience.

The crust, we laughed thought they were short on ingredients. We ended up ordering 3 pies that we didn’t want. They were out of 2 specialty pizzas. No clam pie, what!! We’re an island surrounded by seafood. I don’t understand why they can’t spread the ingredients around. All the sauce and toppings were in the middle. So basically you get one good slice. We had to dip around our meatball sauce to eat the crust. Not saying food was bad, No. They have the right tools (wood fired oven) you need to fix the pies. Being a local, I will try this place one more time. Potential to be 5 stars.

Found out about it in early July. Love this place ! A brand new pizzeria / restaurant in Barnegat Light. Plenty of parking with a “warehouse “ feel inside. Kitchen in view in the back with a large vintage Italian oven. A great causal feel and ambience. A short but fantastic menu. Our 2nd time there last week , me and the wife shared the rigatoni and mozzarella / tomato appetizer. Fantastic. Then we shared the roasted chicken. It is sooo juicy and packed with flavor. Finished with gelato. We love it and will keep coming back. They will soon have an open bar. a must try in that end of the island !

La Riva excelled in atmosphere, service and food. The pepperoni pizza plus the rigatoni bake was the perfect size to fill the 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 kids under 4. We will be returning! Thank you staff and chef for the best meal on the island this trip.

Not worth the price. $15 for a “house salad” is ridiculous. We spent over $800 here for a party of 12 (20% automatic gratuity included). Kind of insane for a pizzeria. They had 3 entrees on the menu and no one was satisfied with theirs. The chicken was bland and lacked flavor. I ordered the “prime” NY strip and it came out pre-sliced (no indication this would be the case) and did not taste like prime beef. Also $18-$20 for 12 inch bar pies is outrageous, when you consider there is maybe 7 inches covered with sauce, cheese, and toppings. The rest is all dough. Take the drive and avoid this place.
