A friend and I ate outdoors on a Saturday evening. We had duck breast and sweetbreads with mushrooms. Both were excellent. The order of yellow and green bean salad with shallots and vinaigrette was equally delicious. We split an order of canalees for dessert. That came with creme anglaise. The French Mule cocktail made with Domaine Canton ginger liqueur set the experience on a good start. This is a restaurant that prepares French cuisine adroitly. When one spends over $100 a person for a meal these days, it is good to know there are restaurants that meet and exceed expectations. Too many offer mediocre results. I will be back and look forward to doing so.

I dined here with my family last night and I very rarely write reviews but I’m still thinking about my meal this morning. I had the Short Ribs entree and I have to admit that I purposefully ate very slow so I could savor every bite. It was absolutely incredible! I can’t wait to go back! Service and atmosphere great as well!

Wonderful bistro experience at La Piquette, felt like I was in Le Marais district while being in Cleveland Park DC. Delicious bistro fare, all the favorites and the bread, OMG – the best warm crunchy baguette you’ll find. Service was attentive, cozy absence, splendid wine list – affordable and quite good house selection – got to go back!

We picked outdoor seating on a cold and windy April Sunday… That was our mistake, I guess. We eventually switched the tables and the heater effect was better there. The place is not too big inside and feels noisy when fully filled up.

The dish my wife ordered was very disappointing. It was supposed to have duck, lamb, sausage…the first two items were MIA. Stay away from the Cassoulet Toulousain. I would recommend the Steak + Frites.

We loved our dinner last Friday in La Piquette! Very good French restaurant and not too expensive! David and our server made us feel at home since the very first minute. The beef tartar was probably one of the best we’ve ever tried and the duck a l’orange was delicious! We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

We stopped in for a Sunday brunch. It felt like we were in a Paris family restaurant. I am sure I had the best eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. Service was excellent. Drinks were delicious. The Carmel creme brulee was Devine. Reservations are a good idea.

Normally a go-to, a recent Bastille Day dinner has made me reexamine the place. The food is good enough, nothing crazy but good quality for the price. However the place is loud, really LOUD, and it’s tough to hear companions let alone the waiter, who appears unable to be heard above the din. We were seated under one of the ac vents which dripped water on us, the menus, etc for the entire stay. Server attitude was a shrug of his shoulder, and when we asked to speak to the manager, server told us, “he says there is nothing he can do”. Sad. Not an offer to move us to a dry table, not an apologetic manager visit. If this was a role play of a real Parisien waiter, we weren’t in on the joke. So, will need to think long and hard about future visits. Just didn’t seem right.

I ordered the Prime Beef Steak, and it was one of the best steaks i’ve ever tasted. The same goes for the french fries, who were just perfect as well!

Nice to be greeted in French. Food & service was very good but not worth what I paid. Host said I could have the lunch special but I was charged for each plate (leek soup, salmon tartare, rice pudding) $55 plus tip (glass of house wine $14). Patron next to me had same lunch – she tells me her bill was $23. Never will get fooled again. It’s a shame that it’s a rip-off.
